27. Chemical Devotion

Released: 2005 (Misunderstood B-side)

This song is seriously one of the best he's ever written and my 3rd favourite track he has ever done with Stephen Duffy. MILES better than most of the songs on Intensive Care. -_- It is like sooooooo many of his B-sides better than so many singles and album tracks, yet most of the public will never even hear it <_< It is just such a great rock track.

Scotty...it is a great track....I also like Postcard ...really nice melody & easy listening

It makes you wonder overall how they select the songs to put on an album.....he has so many songs that we never hear & that are really worthy of Radio airplay..instead of the usual dirge that I am listening to everyday.

I dont know how many times I hear Mika,Lily Allen,Scissors Sisters & loads of other silly artists getting loads of airplay.....

I reckon its something to do with the age profile listening to that radio shows...mainly school kids & students...

In fairness we do not hear a lot of Oasis / U2 / Green Day / REM / Robbie Williams/Coldplay who are really good but I think now considered too old by these kids ...its' a real pity...

GOOD MUSIC gets little airplay anymore............how sad.....

26. Forever Texas
Released: 2000 (Sing When You're Winning)

Amazing, sleezy in your face rock tune, lyrically it is just brilliant, musically it is even better. This like most songs on 'Sing When You're Winning' had the potential to go to #1. It is just such a great song, and is AMAZING live, I should know... he performed it in 2001 when I saw him in Dublin. :P I wish he would do a rock album, he is so good at it. -_-

Sadly, the legendary Cologne performance has been taken down from youtube, but this is still there. A great performance from some show on Sky One. ^_^

First you say you want me
Then you don't want me really
Baby do I scare you
Am I talkin' too freely

I got no perspective
On the things that you lack
Baby I don't care
Just lie on your back

Baby I'm crazy
But lady I'm lazy
Amaze me
Baby I'm fading
My mind's all jaded
Amaze me

I'm so superstitious
So there's something you should know
The reason I'm doing you is
'Cause your friend said 'no'

I've been suicidal since
God I don't know when
So get down on your knees
Say your prayers Amen

Baby I'm crazy
Lady I'm lazy
Amaze me
Baby I'm faded
My mind's all jaded

Give me Texas wisdom
Massive systems
And a luscious behind
Mother said 'Son if you do it too long you'll go blind'

Baby I'm lazy
But lady I'm crazy
Amaze me
Baby I'm faded
My mind's all jaded
One, two

Everybody getting cash for the bung
Everybody wants to know how I'm hung
You can read it in the papers
I'm a giver not a taker
But it won't be the same

Repeat...
I didn't expect it that high. :o Though, it's good. ^_^

25. Win Some, Lose Some
Released: 1998 (IBEY album)

I have always loved this song so much. It's such an uplifting anthem, a great sing-along with very good lyrics. I have found memories of him singing this in Slane, sadly youtube the bloody idiots that they are have taken down not only that performance but an amazing acoustic performance he did of the song as well. <_< This is the only vid they had made by some fan. ^_^

We didn't think it'd last beyond summer
I met her father, she met my mother
We didn't have anywhere else to go
She said to me when we grow older
Will we still need young love on our shoulders
Does it just fade away, will we ever know ?
She touched my face and called me her lover
I never thought that I'd need another
Your cool suburban sun
You're fooling everyone
You win some, you lose some
I didn't know what we had found
Just caught the bus and rode it to town
She wouldn't notice anything else but me
Your cool suburban sun
You're fooling everyone
You win some, you lose some
Dancing at discos and moaning at phone bills
Torremolinos and sunburnt in high heels
Swap it and sell it and drop it and smell it
All those years ago
She touched my face and called me her lover
I never thought that I'd need another oh
Your cool suburban sun
You're fooling everyone
You win some, you lose some
Your cool suburban sun
You're fooling everyone
You win some, you lose some
Now it's gone, now it's gone
You win some, you lose some
Now it's gone, now it's gone
You win some, you lose some
Now it's gone, now it's gone
You win some, you lose some
Now it's gone, now it's gone
You win some, you lose some
Win some.

24. Killing Me
Released: 1997 (LTAL album)

Such a beautiful song. One of his finest ballads to date, such fantastic lyrics, and I love his voice on it. Like all the songs on LTAL it is brilliant,

There was an amazing Top of the pop performance of this, but as usual with youtube it has been taken down. Ever since google bought it, it has gone do downhill.

I don't mind the abuse
It fills in time
When I'm not much use
But it's killing me, killing me slowly

They all say
I'm too restless
But words cut deep
When you're defenceless
And they're killing me, but killing me slowly

There was a time when we were fine
And I could tolerate you
I do believe that you should leave
'cos I've grown to hate you
Should I be weak and turn my cheek
'cos I'm scared to fall
But I just don't know you
And you don't know me at all

I've been told that love's a celebration
But I've lost faith through frustration
And it's killing me, killing me slowly

You paint my picture black
The joke's on me
And I don't wanna laugh
Remember the good times
Won't you bring them back someday, somehow

I don't mind feeling blue
If I could smile just like you do
And it's killing me, killing me slowly

I can't go on and on
Pretending nothing's wrong
Baby I just want to belong
Someday, somehow, somehow

Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh...

24. Coffee, Tea & Sympathy

Released: 2003 (Something Beauitful b-side)

This song is just AMAZING!! It is one of his best ballads ever, lyrically, vocally and musically. Everything about it is just perfect, especially the lyrics, so sad and meaningful ^_^ . Why this was'nt a single, never mind on an album is beyond. One of his all time best B-sides. Would've been higher on my list any other day, but I keep changing it up and down the list along with other songs, so I am just going to leave the list alone for now

Here is a great vid of the song. :w00t:

And the wonderful lyrics

Oh hush :smoke:

It was originally top 10, but every day I change my mind. Tomorrow I might've wanted it to be top 5.

You should have done it for me....for my birthday

But then I would'nt have got to #1 till late December

The last number of tracks should be higher up the chart I would have thought...I am dying to see what you are gonna put in the top 10.......

Well considering I'm just after changing around the order of loads of songs in the top 20, I don't even know what the order will be by the time I post the top 10

Honestly, I adore CT&S, and it might have been much higher if I had've posted it yesterday, all the songs are just too good and I keep chaning my mind.

And next time I do one of these silly lists, remind me to writer them down, and not do it on 'Word', as it keeps messing everything up. Heaven from here has now dissapeared and I cannot remember where I had it,

With all the will in the world
Im still powerless
I found myself breaking the girl
The king is half undressed
Shes not my saviour
(I dont want your love)
Dont take my seed
(Its not your love that I need)
Youre in no danger caressing me
But youre talking to a man Im not supposed to be

And the clothes remain the same
I fear to face the walk of sham
Been nice to know you
Im soaking in the morning rain
Find my car forgot your name
Been nice to hold you

Dont feel small
When I dont call
If I could talk Id tell you
If I ever did dont answer kid
Ive only lies to sell you
Ill be your stranger
(I dont want your love)
If youre in need
(Its not your love that I need)
Its odd behaviour seducing me
Im a million miles away and shes too blind to see

And the clothes remain the same
I fear to face the walk of sham
Been nice to know you
Im soaking in the morning rain
Find my car forgot your name
Been nice to hold you

Step on board the gravy train
Same old faces different names
You bet your life I will complain
Cause Im a sensitive boy
The real McCoy
Dont wanna stick me on your bed post
And I never really will forget you
Im sorry dear have I met you
All that you take from me is coffee and tea and sympathy

And the clothes remain the same
I fear to face the walk of sham
Been nice to know you
Im soaking in the morning rain
Find my car forgot your name
Been nice to hold you

I have my needs
I hope she leaves
(All that you take from me is coffee and tea and sympathy)
I have my needs
I hope she leaves
(All that you take from me is coffee and tea and sympathy)

And the clothes remain the same
I fear to face the walk of sham
Been nice to know you
Im soaking in the morning rain
Find my car forgot your name
Been nice to hold you
