I know it's not a Madonna original, but another artist tried to emulate one of Madonna's hits - even releasing their tribute on the same day!

28/12/1996 Madonna Don't Cry For Me Argentina 3 {3}-5-10-5-7-12-21-34-35-51-62-73->12

28/12/1996 The Mike Flowers Pops Don't Cry For Me Argentina 30 {30}-37-45->3

:lol: yep! But you can tell Madonna by FAR is the superiour act :lol:
Yeh I want someone to cover Like A Prayer again, but I doubt she'd let because that's one of best biggest, if not her biggest hit!

:lol: It is good, but Like A Prayer is better, and Papa Don't Peach is better again :o
Talk about runing a classic, which was sooo controversial at the time -_-

Omg who's Rollergirl?. I found this maybe not a single but still & let's not forget you'll see has been covered by susan boyle & shirley bassey!.

An article on portsmouth.co.uk reports today of a British girl band hoping to hit the big time - with some help of Madonna.

Pop trio Essense have recorded their own version of "History", the song written and recorded for Madonna's 2005 album Confessions on a Dance Floor, after their songwriter Rob New sent demos of their work to Warner Brothers.

The part the article seems to miss, though, is that "History" is not a "lost track" as they call it, because it was eventually released as a B-side on Madonna's "Jump" single.

Anyway, the girls decided to release "History" on their debut album, Easier said than Done, which has now been released for download on the iTunes online music store.

Essence member Kate, who used to play Baby Spice in tribute Spice Girls band Hot Spice, said: "It's absolutely amazing. I just hope she has listened to it. It's so great if she has heard it. It's a girl band version of the song, we have made it our own. But you can tell it's a Madonna song. It's just a bit of a hobby. We are just taking things as they come. If it happens, then brilliant."

Claire, from Gosport, added: "It was really good fun recording the song. We have such a good time. We see ourselves more as a lady band. We sat down here the first time everything was finished. Last week when it went on sale on iTunes, we had champagne and a take-away to celebrate."
