Sell out? Avril has already released a song alot more "pop" then this, sk8er boy anyone? I hardly think she is selling out, just because she makes an upbeat, catchy single does not mean she has gone and recorded her album with Xenomania! I think the single is brilliant, and one of her best yet...

 

And plus Avril is in a happy place in her life right now, so naturally it wouldn't make sense for her to release a song like 'My Happy Ending' now would it. Her current music is reflecting her current life, that's what I think.

I think for many she is a guilty pleasure really but yes will be interesting to see if she can keep up momentum - signs are promising that 'Girlfriend' will be huge but we'll just have to see what sort of impact the album has - I suspect it to go #1 in UK & US in it's week of release but how well it holds up afterwards will no doubt really show the public's general opinion.
