Any Belinda Carlisle fans out there? The original queen of pop is back - with an album called 'Voila' sung entirely in French! It's been 10 long years since her last album 'A Woman & A Man' and all that time she's spent living in France has obviously inspired her... I doubt the album will sell very well over here, I don't even think she's releasing a single to promote it. Loving the album cover though, very James Bond Girl!

It's a shame she went into semi-retirement, she's done some pop classic over the last 20 years, even though a lot of them (Live Your Life Be Free, California, Leave A Light On, Always Breaking My Heart) have been completely overlooked and hardly ever get played, while 'Heaven Is A Place On Earth' continues to get played to death...

Anyway you can hear some of the new tracks on her myspace page - http://www.myspace.com/belindacarlislevoiladeux - and there's also a link there to buy the album.

Yeah, I think this will flop. It's a shame to see people who were once so successful desperately trying to hold onto fame and fortune :(

I can see why they'd want to carry on doing what they love but, realistically, if you'll flop, just be happy with your lot?

Belinda

Heaven Is A Place an Earth will be your only hit, and being a one hit wonder is cool B)

Go back to your day job ^_^

exactly.

here's a thought, mabye she's actually doing it for the love of music, and not sales? ^_^

Before her solo success she was a member of US Girl Punk Trio The Go-Go's who had a string of US hits.

The hits included Vacation, We Got The Beat, Head Over Heels and the original version of Our Lips Are Sealed wish was convered in the UK by Fun Boy Three.

The Go-Go's version was far superior and was the girls first hit albeit small.

i would love he to release a pop album,i often listen to her greatest hits and she did some brilliant singles in her day
I heard her French song on the radio

you like her chanson covers? try this:

Good to see her back :)
Being all in French - it will probably and disgustingly not get a UK release
