ROBBIE'S BACK FOR SURE

Take That sensation

By Alice Walker & Emma Donnan

TROUBLED superstar ROBBIE WILLIAMS will REUNITE with his Take That bandmates.

GARY BARLOW says it's "inevitable" the lads will all be singing together on stage again.

It's the first time the band has commented on rumours of a reunion since

Robbie -in rehab battling drug addiction - acrimoniously quit Take That in 1995.

But Gary, 36, revealed: "We met him while on tour and I exchange emails. A couple of the guys get texts from him and we're on a really good note with him."

Talking of past bitterness, he added: "We're at an agewhen there's no point, there's enough trouble in the world."

The former kings of pop are reigning supreme again after Gary reformed with JASON ORANGE, 36, HOWARD DONALD, 38, and MARK OWEN, 33.

Gary was speaking after tickets for their 29-date Beautiful World tour sold out on Friday in just three hours.

And he thanked Robbie, 33, for their new fame. "If I'm really, really honest we wouldn't have had a chance to be Take That again if it wasn't for him still being a successful artist - we wouldn't have this second chance if he wasn't out there."

Robbie is halfway into an eight-week programme at The Meadows clinic, Arizona, but it's hoped he could join the boys during their tour... and relight his own fire!

Talking about keeping a dignified silence, Barlow and the rest of TT should try doing that, instead of encouraging the press and continuing the will he / won't he speculation
I really hope he doesn't decide to rejoin TT.

Yeah, he'll need more rehab if he does.

All that is, is Barlow shooting off his mouth - yet again - and fueling the press - yet again. In light of recent events - Robbie being in rehab - making any comment about him performing anywhere is just a plain stupid thing to say.

At this point they should not be commenting on anything to do with Robbie, they've said it all a gizillion times already. All they end up doing now is just repeating themselves over and over and over .....

They need to find another way to keep the press talking about them without using the Robbie card.

I agree. Nearly everytime I see an article about them in a paper it has something to do with Rob. Enough already.

American Idol Blast: Simon Cowell Rips Britney Spears

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

By Lynn Edwards

Mar 5, 2007

While Britney Spears tries to get her life back in order at a rehabilitation center in Malibu, California everyone is chiming in on the life and times of all things Britney. That includes American idol judge Simon Cowell who has been a busy guy of late, hammering away at former idol stars Taylor Hicks and Jennifer Hudson and defending the Antonella Barba topless photos.

American Idol Blast: Simon Cowell Rips Britney Spears

Now the never at a loss for opinion Simon is ready to give his take on the former pop star princess and in this case he again blasts away. According to a report from the UK Mirror he takes on not only Brit, but Robbie Williams as well.

***

Sitting by the swimming pool at his eight-bedroom Beverly Hills office, TV's Mr. Nasty blasts: "It's very fashionable to be in rehab. "This whole thing is a total indulgence, Britney and Robbie need to get a grip.

"We've allowed these people to feel sorry for themselves. I don't know what's going on in Britney's head but my attitude is I couldn't care less. She should go back and live with her mum for six months." The paper adds that the multimillionaire mogul blasts away: "I went to a deprived part of the world recently and saw a set of conditions that people live in that are beyond belief.

"It really opened my eyes. You can feel sorry for yourself over the smallest things but then you look at the world and you think, you know what, I've got nothing to complain about.

***

"So when I hear about the Robbies and the Britneys going into rehab I think, 'I'll tell you what rehab is. Go to where I just went, where people really are suffering and then you'll see just how good your life is.' Well said.

COWELL: ROBBIE AND BRITNEY MUST GET A GRIP!

Exclusive by Eva Simpson And Caroline Hedley 05/03/2007

IF you thought Simon Cowell's acid-tongued TV persona was just an act, you'd be wrong.

When we met up with the X Factor creator in LA, he let fly on the subject of spoiled stars Robbie Williams' and Britney Spears' recent stints in rehab.

Sitting by the swimming pool at his eight-bedroom Beverly Hills office, TV's Mr Nasty blasts: "It's very fashionable to be in rehab.

"This whole thing is a total indulgence, Britney and Robbie need to get a grip.

Advertisement"We've allowed these people to feel sorry for themselves. I don't know what's going on in Britney's head but my attitude is I couldn't care less. She should go back and live with her mum for six months."

And he prescribes a short sharp shock for self-indulgent celebs. The multimillionaire mogul blasts: "I went to a deprived part of the world recently and saw a set of conditions that people live in that are beyond belief.

"It really opened my eyes. You can feel sorry for yourself over the smallest things but then you look at the world and you think, you know what, I've got nothing to complain about.

"So when I hear about the Robbies and the Britneys going into rehab I think, 'I'll tell you what rehab is. Go to where I just went, where people really are suffering and then you'll see just how good your life is.'

"I would make it compulsory that they have to go and live in a developing country for a couple of weeks. And then when you get home, as your butler is opening your curtains and making sure your bath water is the right temperature, you'll realise everything is fine." Simon insists his tough love attitudes are borne of bitter personal experience. He boasts a £90million fortune and is a superstar on both sides of the Atlantic with a sprawling megabucks mansion as well as the office where we meet.

But his Midas touch, masterminding shows such as X Factor, America's Got Talent and its soon-to-be-launched UK equivalent, didn't come easily.

"The reason I think the likes of Britney should just go home to mum is because I did it.

"I went bankrupt when I was 30 and lost everything. I made some bad investments and was back with myparents. I thought: 'It can't get any worse.' I felt I couldn't get any lower.

"But even though I didn't have a penny, my life didn't actually change.

"No one laughed at me for losing money, no one looked down at me because I had to sell my house and my Porsche.

As far as my parents were concerned I was just the same person.

"It makes you realise that what you think are important, the physical belongings, don't actually mean anything.

"But then when I started doing well it gave me a genuine sense of achievement.

"It made me grateful for everything I have in my life, because I know what it's like to have nothing."

It is Simon's appreciation of his success that keeps his feet firmly on the ground, he insists - although he admits that's a rarity in showbiz circles.

The 47-year-old continues: "Pop stars these days just get too much too soon.

"They don't actually have to work that hard for it and they lose their perspective.

"I mean Britney Spears is not working in a coal mine is she? You are whisked to the studio in a very large limo, you are flown around in a private jet, everyone will agree with you and physically making an album is a doddle.

"If we go back to Robbie, I've heard Rudebox and it's terrible. If it was by anyone else it wouldn't have been released."

One performer who Simon is certain will remember where she comes from is the latest X Factor winner, 21-year-old Londoner Leona Lewis. Simon says: "Leona is extremely down to earth. She knows the score.

There's real interest in her in the USA. Her album will be out in August or September and she absolutely has to make a great record."

And he has high hopes for last year's runnerup Ray Quinn, 18, whose self-titled album is out next week.

He says: "Ray's a good kid, one of the nicest people I've ever met and he's going to sell a lot of records.

"We recorded it live in the same studio and with some of the same musicians that worked with Frank Sinatra and it sounds totally authentic."

Simon is also working on the first series of Britain's Got Talent, which starts next month. The ITV1 show has entertainers competing for the chance to star in a Royal Variety Show.

Simon laughs: "It's the funniest show I've ever been on in my life. We had 1,500 people in the audience and it was like the Roman Colosseum.

Kids were coming out and getting booed.

"Vicious, but it is a fascinating show. One of the most bizarre things was when a transvestite came on stage. Her 'talent' was dancing.

"And halfway through her act, this female dwarf comes jumping out of her suitcase, who's then attached to reins like a horse.

"The transvestite then started to ride the dwarf - of course we put her straight through." But despite his status as one of the most influential men on TV, one thing Simon admits he hasn't got talent for is parenting.

Despite a four-year relationship with former model Terri Seymour, Simon insists he'll never put a ring on her finger and has no desire to carry on the Cowell name.

"Terri's always known my views on marriage. I'm not a great believer, especially in showbiz.

"It's just painful when you read about someone like Macca's marriage breakdown in all that intimate detail. It's just horrible.

"I don't think I'd make a very good parent - I just don't have the patience. I don't have that ability, sleepless nights and all that.

"My theory has always been if it ain't broke, don't fix it."

'Pop stars don't have to work hard at all

'She's not exactly in a coal mine, is she?

I thought Simon and Rob were mates? <_<

It's a bit rich for someone who was sitting in a multi-million dollar hollywood mansion beside a pool to lecture anyone about how there are people suffering in the world. If he feels so strongly about it he should be over there now giving his money to them instead of making ignorant suggestions that just because someone is rich means they are invicible from problems.,

I don't know if they were mates Scotty, but Simon certainly thought Robbie to be the best pop star around, he said so in his book. It just shows you not to trust anyone being on your side when you are down.
Its the same old, mention Rob's name and get yourself a write up. Simon must be in desperate need for attention

I’VE been sent sackloads of cards for ROBBIE WILLIAMS after launching my Get Well Soon campaign for the star.

I will pass on your letters to him when he gets out in a few weeks — so keep them coming.

Here are a few of your messages:

One on behalf of Chloe Philip, three weeks, said: “My mum, Lucy, was pregnant with me at your Milton Keynes gig and I kicked all through it. Get well soon.â€

Marie from Blackpool wrote: “You are a bright, charismatic guy who can achieve anything you want.â€

Michelle from Australia: “You’re the biggest star in the world. Be happy.â€

Sally Dickson: “I am a counsellor and my advice is take one day at a time.â€

Time running out for Robbie Williams

Sevanand Gaddala, [RxPG]

British singer-songwriter Robbie Williams seems to be at the last stages of his career. He seems to have run out of musical ideas, checked himself into rehab and most recently won the ignominious honour of worst album of the rear for his latest album 'Rudebox' by NME magazine.

But things were not always like this for him. At one time, after quitting the massively successful boy band Take That, he was Britain's darling - its pride and joy.

What could be the most telling and consequential sign of his downward spiral in his life in general is that try as he might, the singer just could not break into the American market. And you cannot be really big if you don't crack that market.

Not that Williams didn't try. It's just that America could care less. And it doesn't seem like it is going to change anytime soon.

Williams started his career as a member of Take That in 1990. He was just 16 then. And till 1995, the year he decided to quit the band, they were hugely successful. He left the band under unclear reasons but it was clear that he felt he was constrained and suffocated.

He wanted to express himself more freely and his first release as a solo artist was a tongue in check rendition of George Michael's hit 'Freedom'.

He sold more albums in the Britain than any other British solo artist in the history. He won an impressive and yet unsurpassed 13 Brit Awards and has sold more than 15 million copies worldwide.

At the peak of his fame Williams wryly said that he's 'the one who put the Brit in celebrity'. At that time, it was not hard for anyone to believe that. But now Williams is beset with problems that seem to plague every aspect of his life.

But Americans just can't take Williams seriously. At times he can seem very campy and ridiculous parody of himself.

Rocker Sheryl Crow, speculating on why Williams cannot make it in the US, said: 'There's a camp element to Williams that's too threatening to Americans. American men don't want to see anything that's burlesque or vaudevillian, they want to feel their artist is brooding and macho.

'Most of our male artists are so aggro they don't even look like rock stars, they look like roadies. Williams' songs are very melodic and I think he takes a lot of his inspiration from Elton John, which does not seem to be what kids in America are into right now.'

Yet another problem is that his musical style and persona is more appealing to gay men in the States. So, when Williams in most of his songs laments about dealing with his fame, it doesn't make sense to people in the US who have never even heard about him.

In one stupid move he tried to break into the US market with a compilation album called 'The Ego Has Landed'. It was a clear case of building castles in the air.

His lyrics reflect his self-obsessive nature. In one of the songs, 'Come Undone', he sings: 'Such a saint but such a whore; so self aware, so full of $h!t; do another interview; sing a bunch of lies; tell about celebrities that I despise; I am scum.'

It seems Williams is hollow, doesn't have much of a point, has no opinion on anything else in this life except for himself.

If the troubled singer is going to make it big anywhere, he has to get a life. It isn't too late but it is going to be an uphill task.

What an insane article. I could spend all night long picking it apart. This journalists is clearly clueless. I mean, to say he is running out of musical ideas when he has just released the most inventive album of his carear is completelly insane. If he had've released another IC/Escapology, then they would have more of a point..

And then getting an Worst NME award really means anything. Talk about ignorance at it's highest form. Also, to say just because he has't 'broke' the USA means he will never be really big is ridiculous and could only be written by someone extremly narrow-minded. His last three proper albums (not including Rudebox as it was released out of the blue with no promo) have all sold over 7m. VERY few artists on the planet can sell over 7m per album, even WITH US sales included.

Robbie In New Crisis

She may be Madonna, but she ain't gonna get Mr Williams that much-needed No 1...

Robbie Williams' career crisis is deepening with his latest single looking likely to be his biggest flop.

'She's Madonna' - which has been touted as one of the standout tracks from the album 'Rudebox' - is sitting at a lowly No 17 in the midweek charts, despite being available on CD and as a download.

The Pet Shop Boys-penned track hasn't suffered from a lack of press either - it bagged all the wrong kind of headlines after footage of the accompanying video leaked.

In the promo Robbie dresses as a (bad) transvestite and talks about himself in the third person.

In the past month of course, the singer has also embarked on a highly publicised stint in rehab after admitting a caffeine, nicotine and prescription drug addiction.

What will also undoubtedly add salt to the wounds is that his old bandmates, Take That, are certs to hold on to the No 1 spot with their single 'Shine', this week.

Their other single 'Patience' which has been in the charts for 17 weeks meanwhile, is just one spot behind 'She's Madonna' at No 18.

Just don't look, Robbie...

Wrong as expected, if it is at 17, then CLEARLY is'nt lower than #22 for SSS.

The Pet Shop Boys-penned track

Wrong again, then CO-WROTE it, if anything they just added parts to the track as appose to 'pen' it.

I wouldn't have given the first article the time of day, it doesn't appear to even sound like a journalist, if it is, then I am changing jobs.

Very annoying the second one though..I am getting cheesed off with all this bad vibe everyone is pitching in on, how can all the reviews I have read that say these singles from Rudebox are the best he has done in years, and he ends up being written off. It really is beyond me.

Boy band's Robbie dilemmaBy Lucy Carne

March 10, 2007 11:00pm

TAKE That fans may need a little patience if they're expecting a reunion with former band member and now solo pop superstar Robbie Williams.

The British boy band, who got back together last year, revealed in an exclusive chat with The Sunday Mail in Brisbane yesterday that they don't see eye to eye on a reconciliation.

Jason Orange, 36, said he had "high hopes" and asked Robbie about a reunion "all the time".

"I really want him to," Orange said. "I think it would be good for him, for us and for Take That."

But co-band member Howard Donald, 38, said: "I think it could be a big mistake. We don't know Robbie. Even though Jason calls him or Gary (Barlow) might email him, we don't know him, we really don't."

Reunion disputes aside, the band – Barlow, Donald, Orange and Mark Owen – have had a storming return to the charts. On the same day they won a Best Single Brit Award for their hit Patience, Williams was admitted to rehab. While his solo album Rudebox flounders on the charts, Take That sold out a UK tour in minutes.

On a promotional tour to support their UK No. 1 album Beautiful World, the boys performed at a VIP B105 party at Movie World on the Gold Coast last night. They will sign copies of their album at the Queen Street Mall upper stage today.

Now in their mid-30s and three of them fathers, they admitted their return to the pop scene was less hyped than in their heyday.

Just four fans were waiting at Sydney airport when they arrived last week.

TATTOO LONG IN REHAB

John Mckie

ROBBIE Williams' mum Jan says her son has been suffering "a living hell". So he saw Take That's appearance on Dancing on Ice, too. This week, the bloke from Stoke walked out of rehab three weeks into a four-week stay. Last time he walked out of something early, Jason Orange was giving him the tin tack, so this is progress. Robbie's had the letters L-O-V-E tattooed on his fingers. What you didn't see is the G on his thumb to help him out. He also has an "S" on both big toes to go with letters O-C-K-S on the others.

We reveal Rob's Swede-heart

March 10, 2007

I CAN reveal that the pretty blonde ROBBIE WILLIAMS was Entertaining on his first night out of rehab was a Swedish singer called LISA LOVBRAND.

The pair met years ago and bumped into each other by chance at Winston’s nightclub in Los Angeles this week.

Apparently Robbie used a tried and tested chat-up line: “Let’s write some songs together.†Lisa insists the pair are just pals but admits she could fall in love with him because “he’s a sexy manâ€.

She said: “It was a big surprise to see him at the club.

“I haven’t seen him for a long time. I’d read he’d gone to rehab, so I had not expected him to show up at Winston’s.

“He seems much stronger now. He was happy and very positive. We’ve known each other for years. We met at a restaurant in LA five or six years ago through some friends. Since then we’ve met over the years at parties. He told me about new songs he’s working on.

“But I don’t think he’ll put out another CD until 2008.

“We talked about getting together and writing some songs. We’ve got the same style. He is also into jazz and swing.â€

And pretty blonde Swedes.

Robbie has been out clubbing every night since quitting his rehab programme at an Arizona-based clinic earlier this week.

His mum is staying with him at his LA mansion while he continues treatment as a day patient for his addiction to prescription drugs.

Robbie may team up with 50 Cent

Saturday, March 10 2007, 14:27 GMT

By Daniel Kilkelly

Photorazzi

Robbie Williams has revealed that he wants to team up with 50 Cent for a new song.

The 33-year-old singer confirmed that representatives for the US rapper have been in touch with him to talk about a possible collaboration.

"I think me and 50 Cent might do something. He called. Well, his people called. He's someone I wouldn't mind doing something with actually, thinking about it," Robbie told RWD magazine.

"He's a bit like Tyson - softly spoken but could f*** you up. And I want friends like that. He's like a teddy bear... with a gat. I can't imagine what we'll do though."
