Posted April 13, 200619 yr Hello Keith, I was wondering -- especially with the abundance of British music acts coming into the United States (lately) -- if you know anything about any other British acts trying to crack the Unites States, such as Girls Aloud. I'm a big fan of U.K. music acts such as McFly, Blue, Girls Aloud, etc., and I would really like to see Girls Aloud make an attempt at the United States. John Yang Los Angeles Hi John, I can tell by your question that you are really pushing for a U.S. invasion by Girls Aloud. Unfortunately, we have no knowledge of the Girls getting imported to America at this time. The same goes for Blue. But with the recent influx of successful U.K. acts into America -- like James Blunt and Natasha Bedingfield -- it may bode well for more U.K. acts to get a shot at cracking the U.S. market. Have said that, while Blue and Girls Aloud aren't on tap for a U.S. release in the neat future -- McFly is. The band is prepping for two big U.S. events in 2006. The quartet will appear in the upcoming Lindsay Lohan film "Just My Luck" and release its U.S. debut album of the same name May 9 via Universal. The set will feature some new songs as well as tracks culled from two earlier chart-topping U.K. albums. The group -- made up of Danny Jones, Tom Fletcher, Dougie Poynter and Harry Judd -- has already had enormous success in the United Kingdom, racking up eight top 10 singles (including four No. 1s) and two No. 1 albums.
