Mr. Bean's Holiday is this years 'Comic Relief film' I wonder if it will actually reference Jacques Tati's Monsieur Hulot's Holiday in a kinda clever kinda way or if it will just be Rowan Atkinson arsing about in France? http://ec1.images-amazon.com/images/P/B000065CGB.01._AA240_SCLZZZZZZZ_.jpg http://www.smh.com.au/ffximage/2004/03/10/hulotsholiday,0.jpg

Actually i think Benigni should have have played Rowan's character in Rat Race (maybe the creatives came to the same conclusion) would have been better than Pinocchio http://www.publispain.com/posters/son_of_the_pink_panther.jpg this is perhaps my fave review from the press: Mr Bean's Holiday (PG) By Anthony Quinn Published: 30 March 2007 Before this dire celebration of imbecility cleans up at the box-office its only area of contention will be the creepy "friendship" Bean strikes up with a teenage boy en route to the south of France. Is Rowan Atkinson's gurning, mugging man-child-twit actually a secret paedophile? Well, that's arguable; what's absolutely clear is that neither star nor screenwriters could contrive a single laugh in the course of 85 purgatorial minutes. Bean offers a homage to Jacques Tati in his slapstick misadventures, though given that he's neither comic genius nor silent - check out that unearthly croak he affects - one can imagine Tati's ghost performing a unique variation on turning in his grave. It would be a funnier place to hang out than watching this movie. actually tbh it made me giggle and snigger for ages, but this was because i had seen the Woodsman with Kevin Bacon and i was also 'analysing' and recognised the dodgy undercurrents of the friendship between young boy and obv kiddie fiddler Bean  . http://www.exclaim.ca/images/woodsman.jpg Steve Rose in the The Guardian (Friday March 30, 2007) said: They're saying this is Mr Bean's last appearance, but if Rowan Atkinson hasn't got the heart to kill off the character, I'll gladly throttle him by his necktie myself. In a post-Borat world, surely there's no place for Bean's antiquated fusion of Jacques Tati, Pee-Wee Herman and John Major? Perhaps he's a version of British masculinity the rest of the world can relate to. Anyway, here he is again, and after a quick set-up in which he wins a holiday in France and a video camera, he's off gurning, mumbling and generally making irritatingly exaggerated movements like a mime who hasn't noticed he's working with props. There are innumerable set pieces, most of which take an awfully long time to deliver an awfully weak gag. And worse still, Bean gets a sort-of love interest in the form of the delightful but clearly undiscerning Emma de Caunes, who gives him a lift to the Cannes film festival. There, with thudding predictability, Bean hijacks the screening of a film by a pretentious American director, played by Willem Dafoe. Dafoe's fake art movie looked a damned sight funnier than the one I was watching. and i think i would have liked Carson Clay's (Willem Dafoe's) pretentious art movie more if it was a real film rather than this (reminded me bizzarrely of the consequences of love at the beginning) but bean: its a rubbish film, but to give it respect its not as awful as Norbit and Emma de Caunes is cute and French  . but obv eurotrash is one thing utter trash another http://www.channel4.com/entertainment/tv/microsites/E/eurotrash/Rapido_trash/galleries/antoine/500/pants_kilt8.jpg but dont bother spending any cash to see this film, spend your money at hmv and buy a copy of Pee-wee's Big Adventure by Tim Burton instead. http://images.amazon.com/images/P/0790749408.01.LZZZZZZZ.jpg http://www.mgroves.com/images/pee_wee_herman.jpg http://images.wikia.com/muppet/images/thumb/3/3a/Pee_Wee_and_Kermit.JPG/300px-Pee_Wee_and_Kermit.JPG
April 5, 200718 yr I am a HUGE Rowan Atkinson and Mr Bean fan and own both the first film 'Bean' and all the episodes on DVD. I've not yet seen his new film though. I would appreiciate it if someone could give me a review of it. Thanks. Edited April 5, 200718 yr by JON
April 5, 200718 yr I own all the episodes and the film on DVD too JON. :D I love them, especially the episodes. I haven't seen this new film yet however my mate said it's not very good, but had him in stitches at a few moments. ^_^
April 5, 200718 yr It's not an amazing film, but there are some HILLARIOUS bits in it :D The ending makes me cringe though
April 6, 200718 yr Author It's not an amazing film, but there are some HILLARIOUS bits in it :D the bits without Rowan in and Willem in instead.
April 8, 200718 yr I went to see it last night and yeah it isn't a fantastic film but it isn't bad. It has some funny moments although imo is slightly too childlike and the first film was a million times better and had much more dialogue in however I felt overall it was a pretty decent, enjoyable film.
April 8, 200718 yr I saw this tonight. It's enjoyable with a good few really funny parts. But it's not 'laugh a minute' by any means. I agree. I didn't think it was as funny as the first Mr Bean movie. -_-
April 9, 200718 yr I was a huge fan of Rowan Atkinson's back in the day, Not the Nine o Clock News, Blackadder..... Marvellous... BUT, Mr Bean is just about the worst ever comedy creation Britain has come up with... I'd prefer a sequel to "Johnny English" than have to suffer the hell of actually watching another "Mr Bean" film..... Mr Bean is JUST NOT FUNNY, and it NEVER WAS....... This role has damaged Atkinson's comedy reputation forever... How can you go from Blackadder to Bean...? Well, mind you, has John Cleese done anything of that much worth since Monty Python and Fawltey Towers...?? Not really tbh.... And, erm, before anyone says "Fish Called Wanda", just ask yourself, whose is the most memorable performance from that film..? Kevin Kline perhaps...?
