THE JAM .................. Strange Town. one of the jams 'forgotten' tracks, still a goody though

LENE LOVICH ............ Lucky Number. a great track for its uniqueness and vocal talents.

TOTO ........................ Hold The Line. a decent bit of AOR

THE CARS ................ Just What I Needed. my fav cars track.

CHIC........................ I Want Your Love. class disco.

THIN LIZZY ............... Waiting For An Alibi. i liked thin lizzy, overlooked brit-rock act.

VIOLINSKI .................Clog Dance. E.L.O. spin off, a jaunty folky track, i liked it!

THE SKIDS ............... Into The Valley my single of this year, basline to melody a top new wave track

HERBIE HANCOCK ...... You Bet Your Love. dunno this one but i didnt like hh.

BLACK LACE................Mary Ann . awful.

GLORIA GAYNOR.........I Will Survive. now a karaoke classic, top pop/disco track, a classic .

This was 1979's Eurvision entry

 

 

I used to own most of those songs!

 

The B side of "Strange Town", "Butterfly Collector" is absolutely brilliant. I used to have the single on yellow vinyl - the only Jam single I owned on anything except the normal black 7" vinyl. Though I did have the double pack single of "Going Underground", I bought it the day it was released and a week later it was the first single to enter the charts at #1 since 1973, a period of 5 and a half years.......
