OK, tonight is the big night where we decide which piece of wonderful Euro-merde to send off to Helsinki for May 12th, so here are the entries for those who haven't heard yet:

And, do any of them stand a chance of equalling or beating Jessica Garlick's top 3 success in Tallinn in 2002?

Personally, I would be happy if either Cyndi or Hawkins & Brown went through, although looking at our draw for the final (sandwiched between two novelty songs) we would have a lot more success if we sent Cyndi through. I'm not sure about top 3, but we're in with a good shout of top ten if we send Cyndi tonight! :cheer: I reckon Hawkins & Brown will probably sneak it, most people won't have heard the songs and Hawkins & Brown sounds REALLY good on first listen  Cyndi should definitely be in contention for our place though ^_^

EDIT:

Cyndi is my fave, and I think she will win it too. Very closely though. However I don't think we'll be able to get top three - possibly top ten though if we send Cyndi.

Top ten with Cyndi is a big possibility, I reckon H&B will get us top 15 if they go through ^_^

I've already started up my support, now all I need to know are the voting numbers! :cheer:

:cheer: Incorporated into the first post ^_^

Not sure...I've gone for Brian Harvey as I think he has the strongest song...

Scooch is my (embarassing) fave though...

Katie Price was the 2005 fave, Antony Costa was the 2006 fave...neither of them won so I'm not sure how it will go

Looking forward to seeing this shortly, usually a catchy track wins, I'm going to say H & B to win, Cyndi could be a close second, the rest are totally naff

Looking forward to watching this, it's nice to see all of the old, forgotten popstars back trying another shot at fame again

That is the point of Making Your Mind Up isn't it?

Thank god we haven't got the MacDonald Brothers

No, what about Cyndi? :funky:

Forget Brian Harvey, Antony Costa et al :(

Thank god we haven't got the MacDonald Brothers

I would emigrate

Fearne Cotton's presenting skills on this are making me appreciate Kate Thornton as a host of a live TV Music show.

Liz's song reminds me of Dusty Springfield hit Son of a preacher man, she's miming, and the backing music is out of tune

1/10

Song 1: (Don't It Make You) Happy! performed by Liz McClarnon

My Review:

Oh Dear! Sounds like a Bad Dusty Springfield pastiche rejected by Emma Bunton for one of her albums.

4 out of 10.

Liz's song reminds me of Dusty Springfield hit Son of a preacher man, she's miming, and the backing music is out of tune

I don't think she wasn't miming at all!

But yeah the song is a rip off of Son Of A Preacher Man!

But I hope I'm not the only one to think the low notes were awful but the high notes were great!

Edited by shazza

I liked Liz McLarnon's effort :o Despite it being a rip-off of Son Of a Preacher Man

Considering the rest of the acts I don't think there will be a better one.
