Depends on your definition of novelty

Of course Greece and Cyprus are political, Turkey are next to them, and they don't give them many points! Hmmm, wonder why?!

And its all guessword, the ESC is very unpredictable.

Maybe because Turkey has a completely different culture from them? Turkish culture is FAR more influenced by Islam and Asia than Hellenic culture is, obviously politics plays a part, but not as much as the media would have you believe, it's FAR more to do with similar culture - most people would probably vote for a song they liked (i.e. one of a similar culture) than for a song they didn't really like from a country they live near -_-

I really like some Greek/Cypriot music,

Helena Paparizou is a legend

Indeed, The Game Of Love is one of the best albums I've heard in a long time

it is a political triangle with Cyprus / Greece / Turkey.

Cyprus is a divided country, half is run by Turkey, half is run by Greece, hence why Greece and Turkey don't really like each other. We're talking divided as in manned machine guns and barbed wire down the middle styla

Big brovaz?? were the best on the night and cindi really should have gone throughover scootch, i felt really bad for her when they said she had won :o
It annoyed me about Cyndi though, cos they basically 'youve won' 'oh you havent won' so got her feeling all happy then seconds later slashed her happiness to send the joke through, the british public take nothing seriously anymore.

Yeah, but they are warming to each other now - Greece and Turkey give each other points nowadays :o

Scooch is not even a THREAD on a patch on From Paris To Berlin -_-

To be honest, I'm slightly gobsmacked that Hawkins and Brown didn't even make the top two. They were huge favourites to win and everyone on the show seemed shocked they were out. Whilst I thought that Scooch would either win or finish last, and I thought the latter however Cyndi and Scooch in the top two stunned me. Hawkins and Brown imo could have done very well both in the charts and at Eurovision. Despite this huge tragedy of Hawkins and Brown not winning and Liz McClarnon not finishing second, I half expect Scooch to do rather well in The Eurovision Song Contest and despite many of you saying it will finish bottom with nul points, if I was a betting man then I certainly would not bet on that happening. I can actually see Scooch finishing in the top half rather than the bottom half and it may do ok in the charts but even so Hawkins and Brown were robbed and the more you hear their song, the better you realise it is and the more you learn to love it. Tragic. Is it possible for losing MYMU contestants to release the song they performed? If it is then I hope that Liz McClarnon still releases ' Don't It Make You Happy' and gets a decent sized hit and that Hawkins and Brown release 'They Don't Make Em Like They Used To Do' and get a huge hit.

Why would we do well when we are stuck between two other novelty songs? We won't stand out at all, so where do we stand a chance?

Although taht said, I do agree with you on Hawkins & Brown -_-

I agree that Scooch is awful.

The Cyndi ballad was dull too, though she sang it well.

I was surprised that Hawkins/Brown were not in the top2 - but tonight was the first time I heard it, and while there were parts I loved, as a whole I was not so sure. It is no good have a grower in a contest where most people are voting based upon first impressions. Still, it would have been a much better option than Scooch.
