Don't forget, Hawkins is very well known in this country and if he was in Europe he wouldn't have been much heard of, so he doesn't have the advantage of being the most well-known, I reckon that's only why he was the favourite (I don't see why everbody was bumming him from the start, the Darkness went down the pan and his other band British Sea Power got where they did because of the Darkness' reputation when they were popular)

And stop talking out of your arse about novelty acts not doing well in it anymore, last years one was novelty, I don't think anybody saw them as an actual credible band who just enjoyed wearing masks :manson:

At the end of the day, we see it as a laugh. Getting a whole continent to participate in a singing competition IS cheesy, we just prefer to sit back and laugh at what they call music.

Stop pretending like it's the election for the next President, IT DOESN'T MATTER

I hope we win :kink:

Only in your dreams :P

i expect everyone shall be sucking up to Scooch when they reign victorious ^_^

I shall happily eat humble pie if they get anything resembling top ten success, but I will never suck up to them ^_^

And that won't happen anyway ^_^

Oh dear. I was in Nottingham last night and rather drunk when I found out the result and all I remember is cursing Scooch at the top of my voice at the bus stop. :( I'm seriously pissed off though, do these people of Britain have no idea??? I don't care how we do now this year, we're gonna flop badly. Cyndi woulda got us top ten at least, this piece of absolute $h!te will get us #16-20. -_- NOT happy.

British Whale :P

We deserve to get NUL Points with the Scooch song - it is not a patch on Infernal's From Paris To Berlin or Cascada's Everytime We Touch. In fact it is not even as good as Scooch's Top 10 Hit - More Than I Needed To Know.

Thry have just done a very, very bad rip-off of Kylie's (penned by Guy Chambers & Robbie Williams) Your Disco Needs You.

Suddenly Jemini's Cry Baby seems like a decent song.

The real travesty is that it beat the best song by Cyndi, a song that could have got the UK a Top 6 finish in Helsinki in May.

Absolutely, Cyndi would've done so well - especially due to the fact that we're placed between two novelty songs, Cyndi would've stood out. I think next year the BBC should just get a good song and send it, not bother with MYMU at all. -_-

I really didn't think Cyndi was that good. She was 2nd to Scooch imo, her vocals weren't amazing and the song wasn't that good.

At least Scooch was gimmicky and fun ^_^

I think they should stop televoting next year, and do it as before, with jury regions, its stupid we just shot ourselves in the foot, of becoming the laughing stock with nul points, and they put a abysmal song in the final, and we can't even vote for our own song in the final, how stupid can you get, the british public don't want to host the competition no more we might as well pull out from the competition altogether.

My rant over

Yes, it was just British Whale - which was basically just Justin Hawkins solo. He only had one hit I think, #6.

Cyndi's song was dull, totally uninteresting and furthermore a soundalike of 'You Raise Me Up'.

At least Scooch's entry is marginally interesting/fun...

im still trying to get over the fact that scooch have won it, well mymu!!!!

should have been either cyndi or hawkins/brown, the UK will get laughed off the stage at helsinki

we'll be lucky if we finish hihger than 20th with this tripe, meh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cyndi's song wasn't dull at all, and would've gone down much better than this will. -_- The last time we did well was with a ballad, so what have we done since? Sent FIVE upbeat pop songs, with the exception of James Fox.
