March 20, 200718 yr IMO it has very little to do with race. All of this years entries were as horrific as each other, he never had a better of worse chance of winning than anyone else. Needs to get over himself.

He then had the nerve to come into my dressing room and "act" surprised by the result. I don't know who he is or why he thought I'd be interested in his commiserations. I certainly don't understand how he got an acting job. I thought I could see his nose growing when he said he couldn't believe the sing-off wasn't between us and Big Brovas... The whole thing whiffed of a stitch-up... I can see where he's coming from here, John Barrowman was being really unsubtle about wanting Scooch to win with his constant 'Are you gonna vote for a good song or a EUROVISION song?'. It was very obvious exactly how the British public would interpret that...<_<
March 20, 200718 yr See, thing is, all this criticism of Hawkins for once I think is unwarranted (and trust me, I HATE him and The Darkness with a passion, so I have no agenda in defending him), if he'd ONLY bemoaned the fact that he didn't win, then yes, let's talk about calling him a 'bad loser', but he was bemoaning the fact that several others didn't win more than anything.... I reckon if he'd actually lost out to something better than fukkin' SCOOTCH hed've been a lot more gracious about it... You're not actually listening to what he's saying - "I reckon the British public must be either racist or stupid not to vote for Big Brovaz or Berverlei Brown....". in what way can that statement be interpreted as egotistical..? Love him or hate him, the man, for once is in the right - this whole thing was a stitch up, a lousy fix in order to get Scootch to Helsinki, it seems perfectly obvious to me that there was a pro-Scootch bias in the way the prog was done...

His deep unoriginality coupled with his utter delusion that he was the world's biggest rock star just made him an absolute joke to any serious Rock Music fan... He totally ripped off all those great bands from the 80s, like Iron Maiden, Van Halen, Dave Lee Roth, Whitesnake, etc, and then had the sheer audacity to believe himself to be bigger than they were, and then he committed the cardinal sin of alienating his potential loyal fan-base by dissing some of the dearly beloved, legendary bands of that scene... He is a fool, a screeching poltroon, an utter and total joke..... He thinks he's David Bowie or Dave Lee Roth, but what he and his band really were were Spinal Tap, only without the sense of humour and irony....

March 21, 200718 yr Hawkins slams 'racist, xenophobic or stupid' public PA Entertainment Hip-hop act Big Brovaz also lost out to Scooch. Big Brovaz wouldn't have done so well in Eurovision as Hip-Hop isn't as big in Europe as is is here (fortunately) Scooch should have come 5th out of 6. Only Brian Harvey was worse. My faves were Liz & Cyndi, but voted for Cyndi as it would have done better in Eurovision.

I reserve the right to say anything I choose about an artist and his/her work - it's called 'valid criticism', it's called 'having an opinion', whether positive or negative... March 22, 200718 yr he lost cause he is "a joke" thats no longer funny what i mean is his band always had the p*** take factor ie the send up factor in the songs and in the videos the problem with that is you don't get taken seriously and the joke can get tiresome, the way he reacted shows he was a bad loser, i love it when you can egotistical artists are exposed the same thing happened with kanye west when he lost at MTV he threw a hissy fit i think a lot of votes went to schooch as a joke, two things were happening they got some votes from the public cause they thought this is what eurovision is all about the other countries will respond well to it (thats what they think) but crucially some subversive people saw how awful and cheesy it was they voted to sabotage our entry cause eurovison is seen as naff and know we'll do badly so they wanted to f*** things up even more Edited March 22, 200718 yr by perfecto
