Posted March 24, 200718 yr I read through some old posts where people just called them crappy pop punk, but they have matured alot since the days of Fat Lip and In to deep. So i am defending them. :D I wondered What rock genre these two songs from their last album would fit into? Zl0EWYTVrlw The vocals are kind sound screwed up but this is the only live one i could find. 1jA9UJvWy3s
March 24, 200718 yr Are you sure this is Sum 41??? :o Doesn't look like them, sure as hell doesn't sound like them either.... This sounds like a band that do actually know a lot more than 2 and a half chords.... They sure have grown up a bit... Is it a different guitarist? I dont remember them being able to play this well....
March 24, 200718 yr Author Nope, the lead guitarist has been there for all four albums and has done some decent solos in each one, but chuck most certainly is their most advanced album, the whole album has a similar feel to these two songs but the two i've chosen are my favourites because of the solos. The bad thing is though The lead guiatrist has left for his own band and now they are taking a step back to the 'All Killer no filler' days with the next album. :(

Silly move really, they could've perhaps slotted themselves in nicely in amongst those guys had they followed the more musically ambitious path as is evidenced here... I think their ex-lead-guitarist's next band is gonna likely sound more like the bands I just mentioned. I look forward to hearing what he has to offer...
March 24, 200718 yr Author Second song is called 88, The thing is though their current guitarist is just a rythym guitairst and they arn't getting a new member so they can't produce the same style of songs, i just hope he regions in the future. His new band are describe as reggae though for some of their songs. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brown_Brigade  Edited March 24, 200718 yr by ChapStick
March 24, 200718 yr They are both good songs. I've not really heard much of their stuff apart from about 2 singles.
March 24, 200718 yr Author There last album Chuck was brilliant, they just don't get enough press/media covourage. :( Here is one of their singles which is a ballad from Chuck. -bPv7QruNQw Edited March 24, 200718 yr by ChapStick

April 11, 200718 yr maybe on the vid.. but what i meant why has did he do a vid with those spotty little t*ts. Well Kerry did play guitar on the first two Beastie Boys singles - "Fight For Your Right (To Party)" and "No Sleep Til Brooklyn", so we shouldn;t really be all that surprised that he's done one with Sum 41....
