Posted March 25, 200718 yr Have you ever had any dealings with them for concert tickets or for a football game? Did you feel ripped off by what they charged you, or would you have paid anything to get your hands on the tickets. Or would you avoid them like the plague?
March 25, 200718 yr No one is forced to use them, if people didn't pay stupid prices to them then there wouldn't be any
March 25, 200718 yr Author No one is forced to use them, if people didn't pay stupid prices to them then there wouldn't be any Agreed, but more and more tickets are being snapped up by them when they first go on sale, and then flogged to genuine fans. Maybe legislation will be required to stop them buying them for resale, and make it an offence to resell tickets. Maybe you should only return them for a refund, and then they can then be resold by the venue.

I think the only solution would be what they do with cricket matches and that is have the person's name on the ticket and that person gains admittance to the event upon receipt of proof of their identity that matches the ticket name but I think the afministration costs of doing that on a grand scale would be too high
March 26, 200718 yr thought the problem had been dealt with by limiting the number of tickets any one person could buy?.. maybe im out of touch!

March 26, 200718 yr thought the problem had been dealt with by limiting the number of tickets any one person could buy?.. Considering that there are organised gangs of touts, that's fairly ineffective tbh, and you have these barely-legal "reselling" outlets as well who are little better than Touts... And how would you stop the same person going into different outlets making over-the-counter purchases...?
March 26, 200718 yr No one is forced to use them, if people didn't pay stupid prices to them then there wouldn't be any I suppose if fans just all said "sod it, I cant be arsed paying these pykie fukks double the price.." it would mean half-empty gigs.... Then I suppose the music industry would actually have to get up off its arse and do something pro-active...
March 26, 200718 yr a lot of tickets have names on already, but implementing a way to cross match everyone's ID's as they enter is far too time consuming Couldn't they verify the ID while the security people do the obligatory body/bag searches.....? I cant see how it would actually be that time consuming.. You just tell everyone to have their proof of ID and tickets ready for inspection as they enter.... Open up the venues earlier then to get people in, that would probably help too...

The only time I've seen and experienced a body/bag search was at Air Tattoo, with the US military making sure no nutters got in to the air show

Every time I go to a gig in London I have to go through a gauntlet of about a dozen big, tough geezers in orange or yellow windbreakers before I even get allowed in the venue.... And, trust me, they take no sh!t....

March 26, 200718 yr they'd be more than welcome here to filter out the chavvy stuff :arrr: Don't really have the Chav problem with the sort of gigs I go to... I've spoken to several of these guys in passing, they all LOVE doing the Metal/Indie/Goth shows because the most trouble they get is the odd crowd surfer... And some of em prefer the music too... :P
March 28, 200718 yr I think I'm the only person in the world who doesn't mind ticket touts. It's the laws of supply and demand. If people will pay that much then there'll always be someone selling...
