March 27, 200718 yr oooh... that was a bad chart imho.. theres only beats international and alanah miles that i could tollerate.
March 29, 200718 yr Ah, see that's back in the days when a song could enter at number 33 and eventually climb to the top. I miss those days. I like a lot on that chart Snap Candy Flip Erasure Beats International They Might Be Giants (what a forgotten classic that is!) Guru Josh (saxtastic!) Inspiral Carpets EZee Posse Primal Scream Orbital Queen Latifah & De La Soul Bizz Nizz Family Stand The Cure Depeche Mode Stone Roses Jungle Brothers The Beloved But it coincides with when I really, really started getting into the charts. 1990 was a great year!
March 30, 200718 yr the second from last chart before the big chart rules change (which turned out to be the first of many in the 90s!) which brought in rules about the maximum amount of formats on which a record could be released. At the time it was the most radical chart rule changes for over two decades... I loved every song in the top 6 and bought the #1 this very week in 1990, in fact this very day as I bought it on payday, which would have been 30/03/90 as I was paid on the last working day of the month... The Power is still an excellent song. The following week I bought what turned out to be my last vinyl single purchase, Vogue by Madonna. This week in 1990 I think it was only available on 7" (it charted at #4 on those sales on April 1st), with the 12" making an appearance on the Monday (April 2) and I bought the 12" on the Wednesday. I think I had bought my last vinyl album a few months earlier, a dance compilation album... it was all CDs after this... Edited March 30, 200718 yr by Robbie
