Posted March 28, 200718 yr Groove Armada focus on Kylie's new album Wednesday Mar 28 17:23 AEST Many of the UK's leading dance producers are jockeying to be part of the highly-anticipated tenth album of Australian pop diva Kylie Minogue. The new offering will be Minogue's first since she was diagnosed with breast cancer in May 2005 and is a follow-up to her 2003 album Body Language. Tom Findlay, one part of popular English electro-pop outfit Groove Armada, says the band has submitted several pieces to be considered by Minogue. However, he knows they aren't alone. "Everybody is thinking of working with Kylie on this album and with good reason," Findlay said from the UK. "It's going to be a huge album with all eyes on it. After what she has come back from (with breast cancer), every music producer I have met has submitted or is working with her on this comeback album. "It's a very competitive market and album. It would be great to be a part of that." Groove Armada will give Aussie fans a taste of its new material when it plays the inaugural V Festival this weekend. The duo, comprising of Findlay and Andy Cato, will release its fifth album Soundboy Rock later this year. It will be their first album since 2004. Findlay said the pair split for 18 months to focus on solo dance projects and to give them a new perspective on the direction of Groove Armada. "After eight years together we stopped working together ... we lost the music love for a bit ... then after 18 months apart realised there probably was more for Groove Armada there," Findlay said. "I think we kind of missed each other creatively in some ways. We found it easier to work with each other, enjoyed the process and had a laugh. It gets harder and harder to keep that going ... but the space apart allowed us to enjoy it again." Groove Armada will play at the V Festival in Sydney on March 31 and the Gold Coast on April 1.
