Posted March 29, 200718 yr You say the name of the artist and someone goes ah they sang so and so, and its always the same song. Ususally they had better material, which seems to get forgotton because of one track. For example… The Moody Blues -- Nights in White Satin Wet Wet Wet ---Love is all around Boomtown rats --- I don’t like Mondays Dexy’s Midnight Runners --Come on Eileen Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel --Make me smile (come up and see me) Human League --- Don’t you want me Any more?
March 29, 200718 yr Nirvana is a pretty obvious one - Smells Like Teen Spirit... Became somewhat of an albatross around their necks...
March 30, 200718 yr the obvious one is Soft Cell with Tainted Love... their worst ever single?! Yeah, I always prefered stuff like "Bedsitter", "Say Hello, Wave Goodbye" and "Sex Dwarf" to be honest....
March 30, 200718 yr Yeah, I always prefered stuff like "Bedsitter", "Say Hello, Wave Goodbye" and "Sex Dwarf" to be honest.... same here - Down in the Subway, Memorabilia, Soul Inside, Numbers...all classic singles, overshadowed by their only UK no.1.
March 30, 200718 yr Amen Corner - Half As Nice Tremeloes - Silence Is Golden Small Faces - Itchycoo Park Three Degrees - When Will I See You Again Troggs - Love Is All Around Edited March 30, 200718 yr by Euro Music

March 30, 200718 yr Feeder - Buck Rogers. About the only song anyone can remember, hardly unsurprising though!
March 30, 200718 yr Julian Cope - World Shut Your Mouth Transvision Vamp - Baby I Don't Care Yazz & The Plastic Population - The Only Way Is Up Fairground Attraction - Perfect Taylor Dayne - Tell It To My Heart Tiffany - I Think Were Alone Now Peter Andre - Mysterious Girl Ant & Dec (PJ & Duncan) - Lets Get Ready To Rhumble Black - Wonderful Life Was Not Was - Walk The Dinosaur Black Box - Ride On Time King - Love and Pride Brother Beyond - The Harder I Try
March 30, 200718 yr Black - Wonderful Life as much as I loved Wonderful Life... I think some of the other Black singles were far better. 'Everything's Coming Up Roses' was a classic single, I thought. In fact... what a brilliant songwriter Verncombe was. His 'Comedy' album still sounds gorgeous all these years on. I wonder what happened to him? I did a gig with a band I was in in 1989, I think, in Cardiff's Chapter Arts Centre... and he was there, looking like he was loving it, too. Strange, as the previous night I'd been sitting watching HIM play live.... :P
March 30, 200718 yr hmmm..... i think that most if not all acts have one signature tune, so you could probably name every group with a track..
March 30, 200718 yr Julian Cope - World Shut Your Mouth Probably true, but there's so much more to the man than that :)
March 31, 200718 yr Transvision Vamp - Baby I Don't Care Hmmm would have said this had to be "I Want Your Love" Gotta add: The Primitives - Crash Republica - Ready to Go Wonder Stuff - Size of a Cow (only one that still gets played anyway) Edited March 31, 200718 yr by grebo69
March 31, 200718 yr Joy Division - Love will tear us apart Knack - My Sharona T'Pau - China in your hand Pixies - Here comes your man

April 3, 200718 yr as much as I loved Wonderful Life... I think some of the other Black singles were far better. 'Everything's Coming Up Roses' was a classic single, I thought. In fact... what a brilliant songwriter Verncombe was. His 'Comedy' album still sounds gorgeous all these years on. I wonder what happened to him? Hello russt68, Colin is still recording as Black on his Nero Swartz record label, i think. 'Everything's Coming Up Roses' is a great record. I love that album. I like Im Not Afraid as well but i think it only got to number 78 in the RECORD MIRROR CHARTS. Sweatest Smile was his first hit as Wonderful Life was on the Ugly Man record label first. Have you got the wea album Black from when they were a 3 piece in 84?
April 3, 200718 yr Orbital - Chime EMF - Unbelievable Bomb The Bass - Beat Dis EMF - I BELIEVE was fabulous. I like the CHA CHA CHA album too BOMB THE BASS - BUG POWDER DUST, WINTER IN JULY, ONE TO ONE CREATION with Carlton I think.
