Ash have written some fantastic tunes mate, I dunno what's not to like, they're probably one of the least pretentious bands out there, they've never really tried to be 'cool' or 'PC', or be anything other than what they were, an honest bunch of lads writing good Rock music, they listened to what bands like Nirvana were doing and did their own thing with it... Avril is just a big ole faker, and she's been caught out...

I'm not getting into this discussion about her, so here is Ed Byrne on Alanis Morissette's Ironic. You might have sen it on C4's list show the other week but hey here it is again fr you to enjoy.

btw Christina i think she is retro, seeing that she has recorded her new single in 1942. looks great for her age

Looks like little Miss Lavigne has opened up a can of worms!

The problem (or rather the mere tip of the iceberg) is that she is just so blatantly manufactured! Exactly how BAD is her new single? On an unprecedented scale I would say!

Toyah, well, I was born in 1983 but from my understanding she was just a cool looking girl that made shortlived pop songs - I don't think she was conceived to be taken seriously! Whereas that insipid little 'songstress' on the other hand...

Spot on mate, on both counts... Toyah is FAR less offensive than Avril, I certainly never took her seriously.. She was just a novelty commercial Post-Punk act with a short shelf-life... Avril, we are actually supposed to take seriously as a 'talented artiste'..... Bollocks to that... Her Disney Club Pop Punk with added swearing and acting all slutty is just offensive to anyone with any kind of musical taste..... The fact that it's been recorded in several other languages as well, just makes it even worse.... I would imagine to any Japanese person, hearing their language destroyed by this insipid little Gaijin would cause a national uproar and would likely ignite feelings of re-enacting Pearl Harbour all over again.....
