OWEN SLAMS WILLIAMS' REHAB PUBLICITY RUMOUR

TAKE THAT singer MARK OWEN has dismissed rumours former bandmate ROBBIE WILLIAMS entered rehab as a publicity stunt. The troubled singer went into rehab earlier this year (FEB07) just as his former band picked up Single Of The Year for PATIENCE at the Brit Awards. The timing of Robbie's stint at rehab has led some to claim the ANGELS singer used his spell as a publicity stunt. Even group member GARY BARLOW claimed his old bandmate should have kept his arrival at the clinic to tackle his addiction to caffeine and prescription medicine secret. However, Owen has defended his pal saying, "It's far more serious what Rob is going through. "Emotions and feelings aren't something you can play around with. You can't say, 'It's my birthday and they are going to win a Brit so I'll go into rehab.' "I don't think he'd do that. Robbie felt it was something he needed to do. "We wish him the best. I haven't spoken to him since he went in but we are there for him."

Right on cue with the back stroke

And ofcourse use Owen as he's more believable at being genuine

I THINK I know why MISCHA BARTON is looking a bit disappointed.

The former OC star was snapped leaving Hyde nightclub in LA on Wednesday night – yes, the Hyde where ROBBIE WILLIAMS has been practically living for the last month.

And the first night she goes there, dolled up in her best party frock, there isn’t even a whiff of our Robbie.

Ah well, I’m sure if she pops in once a week she’ll eventually bump into the sweaty singer and his chums . .

ROBBIE SET TO JOIN UP WITH TAKE THAT

Robbie Williams will rejoin his former band mates Take That on stage, according to his mum Jan. Jan says her son is "thrilled" by the success of his former bandmates and she can envisage a day when they will all be reunited on stage.

Recently his former singing partner Jason Orange said it is "inevitable" that the Stoke star will team up with Take That once more - and Robbie's mum agrees.

Jan said: "I don't think Robert has got a problem with that. He's thrilled at how well Take That have come back.

"On the question of him doing something with them, I feel that will happen. It would be something he wanted to do.

"I'm thrilled that out of all the negative stuff that happened in the past, there's now something great happening.

"Take That were excellent when they were all together and they are excellent now."

Jason said: "Maybe it's my romanticism but I think if we do future albums it's inevitable Rob will sing with us."

Robbie has now completed a course of rehabilitation for dependency to prescription drugs and is in America channelling his energy into writing new songs for his solo career.

Jan said: "He's okay, he's fine, he's on a good recovery.

"He's enjoying his life and his football and going out with the lads and having a laugh. It's great to see. He's doing a lot of writing, he spends a lot of time in his studio. He's in a very good place."

Take That, originally comprising Robbie Williams, Mark Owen, Gary Barlow, Jason Orange and Howard Donald, came together in 1990. The band scored 10 number one hits in the UK - seven of them before Robbie left the group in 1995.

Robbie fan Chris Reeve, aged 55, of Hartshill, said: "I think it would be lovely to see all of Take That back together. But Robbie is better than the others put together. He is the talent."

Kerry Wordley, aged 21, of Stanley, met the superstar after winning a competition last year.

She said: "I'm a bit surprised to hear that. Take That were great, but they have gone their separate ways and so has Robbie.

"It's great to see after all that happened in 1995 they can get over their rift."

THANK OSIRIS,

:cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

If Robbie dares re-join TT he'll have me to deal with. The mere thought of it makes me seriously displeased. :smoke:
  • Author

It's good to see he's spending loads of time in the studio, hopefully he will continue to do so for until next year ^_^

As for the TT, well I suspose she just means a one off performane or something, but I really cannot imaine how it would work tbh if ti did happen.

One song or 10 he shouldn't do it. If there ever was a moment to reunite its certainly passed now.

Reuniting with them would be a huge step back for him and frankly they don't deserve him. And I don't understand why Jan is feeding the speculation especially in light of Barlow's comments a few days ago.

I don't get the whole reuniting thing anyways. Why does he have to reunite with them ??! Yes he was part of the band but he wasn't part of the band when they broke up. They wanted to do it without him, they thought they can make it as a four piece and that's how it should remain. He never belonged in TT and he definitely doesn't belong there now.

I would hope he's got better things to do then join that lame foursome

Menace to play exhibition vs. celebrities

REGISTER NEWS SERVICES

April 6, 2007

British music artist Robbie Williams and Santiago Cabrera of the NBC show “Heroes†are scheduled to come to Des Moines — to play soccer.

Williams and Cabrera play for LA Vale, a Los Angeles soccer team of celebrities and athletes. Des Moines native and former Des Moines Menace captain Seth Modersohn also plays for the Vale.

The LA Vale are scheduled to play the Menace in a 7 p.m. April 21 exhibition at James W. Cownie Soccer Park.

Tickets cost $10 and will go on sale Wednesday at menacesoccer.com and iowatix.com. One dollar of each ticket sold will go to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and $1 from each commemorative T-shirt sold will go to the Paula Modersohn Scholarship Fund.

Players on both teams will be available for autographs after the match.

Williams, a former member of the band Take That, started his solo career in 1995. His American hits include, “Millennium†and “Angels.â€

Cabrera plays artist Isaac Mendez in “Heroes.â€

Other players expected to participate for the Vale include British singer Oliver Trevena, actor Richard Jenik and professional model Rocco Santangelo.

The Menace open their 2007 Premier Development League season May 5 with an exhibition against the Latino Select at Waukee Stadium.

I think the answer to that old chestnut about TT and Robbie is the wording Robbie will join TT on stage.

Which I see as a one off and possibly a charity gig or special event.

RADIO 1 DJ Tim Westwood would rather date a girl-next-door, than have R‘n’B diva Beyonce draped all over him.

The hip-hopper said in an exclusive chat with Sun Online: “I’m not keen on celebrity women, man. I prefer real women, down-to-earth, from around the way kinda girls.

“I don’t want someone to look like Beyonce or Rhianna.â€

The radio mastermind, who has just finished filming the new series of Pimp My Ride UK, also vented his anger on the Home Office’s recent decision to deny Snoop Dogg a visa into the UK (to perform with fellow rapper Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs).

Defending claims that rap encourages gang culture, he said: “Ten years ago they were in beef, Tupac got killed and then Biggie Smalls got killed.

“It was the east coast against the west coast, so for those to team up, it was a beautiful thing, man. It was the One Love Peace tour, the whole thing was about promoting peace on the streets, the Home Office got it twisted man.â€

“People would have paid attention to those cats, man. A lot of kids in the streets relate to them, so I think it was a real big mistake by the Home Office.â€

He added: “There’s a lot worse stuff out there than hip-hop.

“If they want to ban the music, they should ban movies, TV shows, games and all that commercial stuff, because they’re just as violent, if not more violent, than a lot of hip-hop.

“There are more murders in opera than there are in hip-hop, so I think it’s wrong to blame the music for what’s happening in the streets.â€

Tim was a victim of gun crime himself when he was shot in a drive-by shooting in 1999.

On a lighter note, he praised Robbie Williams’ attempts to imitate hip-hop on his latest album Rudebox - even though producer Timbaland snubbed it.

He said: “Yo, he’s so big he could fart on a record and it would sell. Robbie’s cool, I’m not going to criticise him. He has fun with music, it’s all good.â€

And maybe it’s because Westwood is no stranger to critique himself, with critics claiming his ‘American’ accent is put on.

In defence, he said: “That’s a radio thing, man - it’s just a persona.

“I’m just trying to bring that club feeling into people’s bedrooms, you know what I mean?

“My show goes out on Radio 1 on a Saturday at 9pm, when my listeners are getting ready to go out so I just want to bring that hyped-up, club energy to the bedroom to get them in the mood to go out and party, man.

“It’s dynamic and matches the energy of the music… Of course, I play some slower stuff for the ladies, too.â€

Pimp My Ride UK, which kicks off on MTV this Sunday, promises to be bigger and better than ever before.

Highlights include a Renault Clio which is converted into a mini gym - complete with weights and BMX bike rack.

And the pimping of a Diahatsu Hi Jet into a narrow boat complete with portholes and 48 screens in the floor to give the sensation of it being in the water!

Finally, we asked Tim to ‘pimp my TV show’, giving the DJ a list of shows to get the full pimp treatment.

EastEnders: “Yo get me in there, man. Put me up in that spot, I’ll sort out Grant Mitchell or whoever! Yeah man, put me in EastEnders, I’ll sort everything out.â€

X-Factor: “I’d make it all about hip-hop, man. Give it a street makeover with less pop music and more RnB and hip-hop, real street music.â€

Big Brother: “Put Lil’ Kim in that house, 50 Cent, Ja Rule, you know. Yeah man I’d put some of the hip-hop stars who’ve got beef in the house, let them sort it out in there and see what happens.â€

News At Ten: “Bring Trevor McDonald back to that, he’s already pimped out. The news is a serious thing anyway, so it doesn’t need any pimp treatment, we just need Trevor back on there.â€

Anybody live near Des Moines?

Does he know he has to be available for autographs afterwards?

The tickets are only around £5 when you convert them. God that must be the cheapest ticket to see Rob ever

I know.

Where is Des Moines? Iowa? Nobody will have a clue who he is there....

On second thoughts I don't think the autograph hunters will be a problem.

Anybody live near Des Moines?

Does he know he has to be available for autographs afterwards?

Nope, don't live near Des Moines but where there is a Williams there is a way :yahoo:

Aside from the autographs, does he know that there are nothing but corn fields in Iowa

Truly shocking that news is. I thought it was an April Fool's joke a week too late or them mistaking him for the footballer Robbie Williams

Atleast now we know why he's been pimping Oli T lately ....
