Posted April 2, 200718 yr Westlife have admitted they could quit if their next record fails. According to the Daily Star that their future depends on a forthcoming single. If the single doesn't make a top spot in the British charts, they will go their own way. "If the next record doesn't work then, yeah, it might be the end," band member Nicky Byrne said. "But, if it does work out, it's definitely not the end, it's as simple as that. "We'll get the record out and, hopefully, it will be very successful. But we're not trying to fool anybody. "We've had a fantastic career and we really want to continue it. But it's up to us four to make the effort." Lead singer Shane Filan said: "We love what we do but we know that our shelf-life will run out soon. "We'd like to carry on forever but that's not really up to us, it's up the fans." Westlife are currently on a UK tour and have not disclosed details of when their next single will be released. Source: Ananova
April 2, 200718 yr Its hardly like they have ever flopped. To me that sounds like they are not too sure whether they actually want to release a new single or not.
April 2, 200718 yr It's more like "go an buy dozen of our single or we will split", just for their fans to buy it massively.
April 2, 200718 yr It's more like "go an buy dozen of our single or we will split", just for their fans to buy it massively. Good point. Well said.
April 2, 200718 yr My arse did they say that charis. They signed a multi-album (covers) deal only last year. Although, I would love nothing more than for them to split myself. :D
April 3, 200718 yr They're acting like there last album flopped or something  why would they suddenly make a statement like that?
April 3, 200718 yr I take this is in the todays Daily Star as it wasnt in yesterdays (2nd April) No, it was posted yesterday, so I have no doubt Charis is just taking the p***. if only it was true. :(
April 3, 200718 yr What a load of rubbish, the article and the group, they say this every year and every year they bring an album out and tour, boring boring boring.zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
April 3, 200718 yr What a load of tabloid c**p!! The Daily Star? Please! Tony Blair could probably tell you more accurate details about the music scene
April 3, 200718 yr Author My arse did they say that charis. They signed a multi-album (covers) deal only last year. Although, I would love nothing more than for them to split myself. :D Btw what does multi-album mean?
April 3, 200718 yr What a daft thing to say. They've never had a flop yet, even if there next song doesnt make no1, there next album will probably sell well. They are talking like their recent stuff hasnt done well.
April 3, 200718 yr This sounds like Walsh c**p talk. Mind you I'd love to see the back of them. Maybe as others have said they've run out of covers.
April 3, 200718 yr This was in Sunday's Daily Star (April 1st). In other words it is (unfortunately) less believable than normal. My favourite Music related April Fools Story was on NME.com where The Cure's Robert Smith is supposedly masterminding Jessica Simpson's new album, getting a load of cool indie/rock acts on board to help her out. PS. I assume the story in the News Of The World about Sinitta being the 4th X-Factor judge & The Sunday Mirror (or Sunday People) story about Take That with Robbie playing the Princess Diana tribute concert, resulting in the Spice Girls not doing the gig as they'd be over shadowed was a wind up too.
