Posted April 3, 200719 yr Kings Of Leon off to racing start 03 April 2007 - 10:02:26 Source: Music week The new Kings Of Leon album is outselling the new Maximo Park set by almost two to one, according to sales figures released today. Kings Of Leon’s Because Of The Times is on course to claim a comfortable number one, ahead of Maximo Park’s Our Earthly Pleasures, which looks assured of a number two. The other big album release of the week is Timbaland’s Shock Value, which is looking good for a top ten position. Melanie C’s new album, This Time, is only just on course for a top 40 spot. In the singles chart the race for the top spot is very close, with only a few hundred sales separating The Proclaimers’ (I’m Gonna Be) 500 Miles and Avril Lavigne’s Girlfriend. The highest new entry is likely to be the new Erasure single I Could Fall In Love With You, although it is currently not on course for a top 10 placing. Arctic Monkey’s new single Brianstorm, which is only available digitally, is sitting low in the top 20. However, it is unclear quite how reliable the figures are as there is data missing from Napster and Virgin. ===================================================== Singles 01 Proclaimers feat Brian Potter & Andy Pipkin - (I'm Gonna Be) 500 Miles (13.7k) 02 Avril Lavigne - Girlfriend (P) (13k) 03 Gwen Stefani feat. April 3, 200719 yr I think Arctic Monkeys will go in around 16 and stick around there until the record's released when they'll go up to number 3.
April 3, 200719 yr Author Hello, where is Vince and Andy? Just missed the top 10 by the sound of things
April 3, 200719 yr So if download data is missing and only a few hundred between Avril + Proclaimers - I remain hopeful :o I am praying she will be #1. I wonder where MCR are? Though they won't be listed as a new entry as they were #43. :( Good showing for Erasure though I expect a drop by end of the week.
April 3, 200719 yr Oh and Mikey - where can I buy the Music Week magazine? It comes out on a Wednesday non? Cos I'm always checking WHSmith or Borders and can never seem to find it even for just a read in the sop.
