Philippa Treverton-Jones was named best specialist DJ at last year's Student Radio Awards and is currently head of music at University Radio Nottingham. The 21-year-old from Newport in south Wales conceded it would be "a big leap" to move to a national station. Lesley Douglas, controller of 6 Music, called her a "natural" broadcaster with "a clear passion for music". The station had worked closely with the Student Radio Association for the past five years "to support the development of new talent", Ms Douglas added. And she said she was "delighted that one of its rising stars" was taking over her station's chart show. The DJ, known on air as Philippa TJ, is a third-year politics student at Nottingham University. She will present her first show on Sunday at 1400 BST. Who do you think has the best policy - Radio 6 Music who only employee people as DJ's who have a passion and love for music or Radio 1 who only seem to employ TV personalities as Radio 1 DJ's?
April 4, 200718 yr I saw the title and though JK & Joel had been sacked! Anti-climax :( Yeah me too :( I don't really care about this chart show tbh :(

The former... Absolutely.... I'm getting bloody sick of TV personalities who are only interested in the pay cheque plaguing the airwaves
April 5, 200718 yr People who have 'a passion and love for music' would seem to a top qualification for a chart show...unless it's radio 1.
April 5, 200718 yr Apart from Jo Whiley who's been there for ages Radio 1 really do have the worst DJ line-up imaginable...
April 5, 200718 yr I thought JK & Joel are out  Meh... But Scott Mills was really c**p last Sunday. He said about Proclaimers' original hit, that is downloaded by mistake  How can he say that on a national station to all those downloaders that appreciated more the original, than that crappy comic relief version? Yep, Radio 1 has the worse line up Djs ever -_- xox.

I'm getting bloody sick of TV personalities who are only interested in the pay cheque plaguing the airwaves In the car this week my dad had radio 2 on and it had Dermot O'Leary mumbling on and on. I'll take back everything bad i've said about Ken Bruce and the feeling (no then again not the feeling   ) as Dermot sounds like the QC off the fast show who was increadibly drunk all the time.
