April 5, 200718 yr Author yet more dodgy refereeing now against Spurs -_- that was NOT a penalty *sigh* Sevilla 1 - 1 Spurs I agree, it was a PERFECT challenge, he couldn;t have made it any better and a penalty. That is one ref that DOES need glasses!
April 5, 200718 yr Breaking News on Radio5 Live: The Chairman of Roma has said that Manchester United should be chucked out of the European Cup for their fans behaviour, as it was not the first time this season that their fans have got into trouble. They & the Italian FA are going to UEFA to ask them to consider their request. That has to be the most unbelievable thing I have heard this year. The F'in cheek of the Italians. As the Kaiser Chiefs once sung "I Predict A Riot, I Predict A Riot...." for next Tuesday's return leg at Old Trafford. EXCUSE ME? THEY should be banned, infact with everything that's happen all Italian clubs should be banned from Europe
April 5, 200718 yr Scummy Spurs fans, throwing chairs at the police (and hitting their own fans, idiots!) throw them out the competition! GO SEVILLA :cheer:
April 10, 200718 yr Yeah, i think all the Italian clubs should be banned from the sport for a year or two- the match fixing, the violence etc!
April 10, 200718 yr Yeah, i think all the Italian clubs should be banned from the sport for a year or two- the match fixing, the violence etc! Well it'll never happen. Even with the match fixing stuff some of the clubs were still allowed in European competitions, but Italian football really is a state at the moment and it needs to sort itself out very quickly.
April 10, 200718 yr Last Updated: Tuesday, 10 April 2007, 19:26 UK Fans clash with police at Man Utd Police and football supporters have been involved in minor scuffles outside Old Trafford ahead of the Champions League match against Manchester United. Greater Manchester Police officers made several arrests after a confrontation in front of the ground. The situation involved several dozen mainly Roma fans and was soon brought under control by officers with batons and police horses and dogs. Further skirmishes occurred just before kick-off involving both sets of fans. Almost 4,000 Roma fans are expected at the quarter-final second leg tie. BBC sportsnews correspondent James Munro described the atmosphere outside Old Trafford as "tense and unpleasant". Police dog units and mounted officers became involved with a series of scuffles with supporters close to the club shop on Sir Matt Busby Way at about 1750 BST. Fans are understood to have hurled bottles and missiles at police lines outside the ground. There are no reports of anybody being injured. Police sources told the BBC that the "isolated" trouble - which involved fans of both teams - was contained within five minutes. A police spokesman said: "There have been a few incidents but they have been fairly isolated and we are dealing with them as they happen. "There have been some arrests to maintain the peace at the ground. The trouble has involved a mix of fans from both sides." BBC radio reporter James Alexander said extra security was very much in evidence outside the stadium. "There are lots of security personnel and extra police cars and vans around the stadium," he said. "It has been classified as a Category C match which is the highest alert there is for a match at Old Trafford. It is on a par with a home match against Liverpool." The visiting fans will be in the second tier of the East Stand, meaning they will be sat at the same end of the ground as United fans. Roma's managing director Rosella Sensi earlier insisted their fans would behave impeccably. Sensi said: "It is right to call for calm. But our fans know how to behave whether they are in Italy or abroad. "It's a very important game for Roma but we are approaching it calmly." The police match commander at Old Trafford is confident the match will pass off peacefully and that the Italian club's notorious fans will not travel. Supt Charlie Coxon, of Greater Manchester Police, said: "History shows the ultras don't travel abroad. "We have Italian police officers with us. If any of the known ultras do appear, they will see them. "We have a full police operation at Manchester Airport to make sure everything is very safe. But we don't expect any of them to come." The Independent Manchester United Supporters Association said trouble was not expected in the return match. "We all need to make sure that there are no headlines in Manchester to wipe out the memory of those made by the Italian police last week in Rome," said IMUSA in a statement. "The Roma fans at Old Trafford on Tuesday will be just like most of our fans who went to Rome last week and will be there only to watch the football." Uefa is to investigate the trouble from the first leg, which could lead to disciplinary action for both United and Roma.
April 10, 200718 yr Half Time: Man Utd 4-0 Roma. Man U 4-1 ahead on aggregate. The best 45mins of Football I've seen this season. Valencia 1-0 Chelsea. Chelsea 1-2 behind on aggregate.
April 10, 200718 yr Man Utd have ripped Roma to shreds. They've been brilliant and I really can't see any way back for Roma now.
April 10, 200718 yr  Chelsea are so damn lucky, that's like the 10th time they've won a game in stoppage stime
April 10, 200718 yr Look at the possesion in the second half 60%, and by the way we were playing it was a matter of time before we scored. :cheer: Edited April 10, 200718 yr by Clefairy
April 10, 200718 yr No, it's luck, Chelsea hoofed long balls all match, created nothing and didn't deserve a goal. Chelsea rival West Ham as luckiest team in the world. Come on Liverpool!
April 10, 200718 yr No way was it long balls all match, our amazing midfield played great football down the wings and through the middle.
April 10, 200718 yr Whatever  Anyway, Man Utd proved they're WAY better than Chelsea, much more interesting to watch, free flowing football compared to Chelsea's long balls, to think I watched the first 20 minutes of the borefest over Man U's match.
April 10, 200718 yr 1st half was c**p, seocnd half was great. Results are what count at the end of the day, doesn't matter how 'silky' or 'flowing' matches are. And i'm sure Roma will come up with a good excuse...
April 10, 200718 yr 7-1 7-1 7-1!! :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: Let's hope we get Bayern in the Semi's as well (let's just say Round II) Oh and OF COURSE a Northern clash with Liverpool in the Final would be AMAZING. :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:
