Posted April 5, 200718 yr http://www.viva.tv/Common/Image/field/pic_article/id/16568/filename/gary%20barlow.jpg Gary Barlow has admitted that he has mixed feelings about his former Take That bandmate Robbie Williams. Williams issued a press release announcing that he was checking into a US rehabilitation clinic on February 13. The following day Take That clinched their comeback by winning the Best Single prize at this year's Brit Awards. Barlow told The Times: "One side of me wants to send him best wishes. I blame everyone around him. If it was me going into rehab, you'd never know. I'd be so embarrassed. "But this bloody big press release giving all the reasons why...It's a big coincidence isn't it? So who knows?" Barlow is baffled by the press release Williams issued the day he entered The Meadows centre in Arizona in February - to be treated for addictions to caffeine and prescription drugs - claiming he could and should have kept it secret. The singer says, "I'd have been embarrassed. If it was me, you'd never know."
April 5, 200718 yr 13th February seems to be a common date for Take That announcements to happen. In 1996, they announced their split, and this year former member Robbie announces he's going to rehab.
April 5, 200718 yr I kinda agree with gary :P That was a tiny little benign comment in amongst a lengthy (and good) article in the Sunday Times. It has been brought out to stir people up. Also - its not as if it hadn't crossed people's minds. Purely from a personal point - I'd want to keep stuff like that to myself anyway so I agree with Gary's comment - maybe its because I'm a rather reserved Capricorn too! As for the constant "Robbie will join us" - I'm sure that is just what was said round about the reunion tour when there was probably a legitimate reason for him to - but there's no reason for him to now - it is the Beautiful World Tour not a reunion. The comment just keeps getting dug up. They are better left apart. I couldn't see RW as a part of any band whatsoever - he likes being solo and Take That should stick as a foursome - after all - they are having much more success this time round. I just hope it goes on for another year or two. Kathy
April 5, 200718 yr OWEN SLAMS WILLIAMS' REHAB PUBLICITY RUMOUR 04/04/2007 12:21 TAKE THAT singer MARK OWEN has dismissed rumours former bandmate ROBBIE WILLIAMS entered rehab as a publicity stunt. The troubled singer went into rehab earlier this year (FEB07) just as his former band picked up Single Of The Year for PATIENCE at the Brit Awards. The timing of Robbie's stint at rehab has led some to claim the ANGELS singer used his spell as a publicity stunt. Even group member GARY BARLOW claimed his old bandmate should have kept his arrival at the clinic to tackle his addiction to caffeine and prescription medicine secret. However, Owen has defended his pal saying, "It's far more serious what Rob is going through. "Emotions and feelings aren't something you can play around with. You can't say, 'It's my birthday and they are going to win a Brit so I'll go into rehab.' "I don't think he'd do that. Robbie felt it was something he needed to do. "We wish him the best. I haven't spoken to him since he went in but we are there for him." Source: HERE
April 5, 200718 yr Gary Bore-low! Monday 02 April 2007 Closer Magazine (weekly) Mr Showbiz A Sunday supplemnt magazine published a completely sycophantic interview with the boys yesterday and I read it with disgust. Not only did writer Bryan Appleyard manage to shove his head so far up Gary's backside, it also made it look like Robbie Williams was some washed up old has-been. At one point Gary even slags Robbie for addressing his addiction to prescription pills. He says: "One side of me wants to send him best wishes. I blame everyone around him. If it was me going into rehab, you'd never know. I'd be so embarrassed. But this bloody big press release giving all the reasons why...It's a big coincidence, isn't it? So who knows?" It drives me bananas that Gary is continually jealous of the fact that Robbie Williams had the solo career he never could dream of. Yes, like most of the country I love Take That, they represent my teen years when I was at school. But are you honestly telling me if Gary Barlow had achieved mass success across the whole of Europe like Robbie did then he would have reunited with Take That? I don't blooming think so. So why all the fuss? Maybe Gary's a tad jealous that Robbie could announce playing ten nights at Wembley Stadium next week (despite being in and out of rehab) and probably sell out! Having met both Gary and Robbie I have to say I'm with Team Robster. He may be a mess in the head and a live wire but at least he has manners and is polite enough to say hello and actually mean it. Gary needs to stop taking swipes at Robbie and concentrate on his career - being the song writer who can't dance from that band that have reformed to have a bit more success.
April 5, 200718 yr the press picked the small snippet out of context to try and stir up the robbie and gary battle i wish they would leave it alone ,i think gary os great but the press if u ask me are dying for him to make a slip up on robbie

Gata is wrong about the whole interview being sycophantic. Its weird - when people say nice things about Take That some Rob fans just can't handle it. I wish if they're going to slag TT or Gary Barlow off - they'd take it over to the Robbie board (I got a telling off here once by some he/she called Scotty for daring to doubt Robbie over here and stupidly I apologised - I now take the apology back after reading Gata's comments). However I was once naughty on the Robbie board - but I never go there now! Kathy

April 8, 200718 yr Oh dear Kathy, I think you need to put your glasses on. That was an article from Closer Magazine, not something Gata herself said. Bless  Don't read Closer - don't much like womanish kind of mags - usually too full of Jordan's boobs and Posh's pout. But you're right about the glasses Scotty, will have to start wearing furryfocals soon. Also was in a right hurry when I posted that - on way to a fabulous weekend in York - just got back now and am totally miserable. Have decided that the next holiday/break I go on will be to a totally c**p sh*thole of a place so that I can be grateful for coming home! Sorry Peeps! But I am 68 years old and my real name is Edna!
