You will get no where in life stereotyping people,to be honest i like most emos i know,(none of which wear dog collars ) and i dont know one which follows your stereotyical views.

Im totally with you. Only the MAJOR emos are like all that depressing stuff, most just have a fringe, tight clothes and are a laugh!

I love HIM, I used to wear HIM hoodies but never called myself a 'Goff' I knew what I was and that was a 'Mosher', the clothes was so comfortable it was me I loved it. I'm not that person anymore, only thing I still have is my T-shirts. I dress more like a Goth now but I'm not one, got more Black Rose and Raven than owt else on that list. Altho that too is now changing I'm going on to the more expensive side of things instead of paying under (got no pound sign) 100 quid for a corset it's now going over the 100 pound price mark, and the same with skirts 40-50 now 90 to over 100.

I just used HIM as an example of what the Gofficks/Emos listen to, all you see around Camden is a sea of HIM, Manson, Ev, MCR, T-shirts and Hoodies... I like HIM too as you know, got all their albums on my Hard Drive, I aint ashamed to admit liking HIM (mind you, the last album was a bit on the c**p side coming after the excellent 'Love Metal'..), or indeed some of the new Ev stuff, but I do get pissed off by all the bandwagon jumpers, I remember seeing HIM in '99 in a tiny little dive in Glasgow (The Cathouse actually... ), which I thought was a better gig than when I saw them again a couple of years back...

And your changing taste in clothing suggests you are evolving into a Goth even if you are not willing to admit it.... :) Being a Goth is a bit like Brian in "Life of Brian"..... "I AM NOT A GOTH"....

I've actually started dressing down a little bit because of all these bloody Emos.... <_< Before, I'd think nothing of wandering into Camden in my PVC bondage trousers, but now, I usually just wear the SDLs or my leathers...

.... i think its more to do with wearing the clothes she likes rather then aspiring to a particular image.

Raven and Black Rose is pretty specific though mate... They specifically do Goth clothes.....

Virtually NO self-respecting, TRUE Goth would even consider wearing a Dog Collar anymore, except the ones who are into Fetish and BDSM

  Wonder if anybody is gonna cheak out those 'band names' online after you mentioning them

Wouldn't surprise me..... If anyone were to type in BDSM into a google search, they're gonna be, ahem, surprised by what the search turns up....

I wouldn't say it was c**p it's their worst to date, I expected something different to their others cos Ville said they ain't doing the whole 'Love Metal' thing anymore, bit of a let down but not that much of one.

There was loads of them in the town center today I looked and laughed I could not resist, they're just there to be laughed at.

I don't wear it all the time, only when I go out :) At the end of the day when these kids grow up they'll look back and think 'God I was a t***', but you've been dressing the way you do for ages you shouldn't tone down....Oh I get it you're feeling old, think it don't suit you anymore lol.

That's probably part of it... I'm 35 now, officially 'middle aged' if we take it as read that the average life expectancy is 70..... I do dress up a bit when I go out to clubs, and on the rare occasions when I do decide to go to Whitby or some other Goth festi, then I do still go all out....

But if you love who you are, the way you are it shouldn't be a problem.

Would you like to try something new to you?

f*** EMOS, yes! They really p*** me off now especially at clubs <_<

Emo music, I like some of it so that can live. As Rob said there is MUCH worse music so f*ck American R&B and Hip-Hop please :D You'll never guess what 50 Cent's new single is about :o

Erm, let me guess - would it be "smokin' blunts, ho's and shooting people" by any chance....?

Basically, yes  "I've got lots of money and hos" "Did I EVER mention I got shot nine times?" etc.

"Did I EVER mention I got shot nine times?" etc.

Only about every five minutes.....

I missed out the "I got lots of cash and bling part..". Silly me.... People'll start 'tut-tutting' and moan that we're "stereotyping" all rap/r&b stars.... Rubbish, they're stereotyping themselves if you ask me... Early Rap music was never like this, it actually had some balls.... The rot really started with rubbish like Snoop Dogg....
