Well as of today Radio1 have started a huge thing. Basically on every daytime show (and possibly Zane Lowe as well) there's a chance to win tickets to the Arctic Monkeys gig this Friday in London. This is all leading up to Arctic Monday on Radio1 which is basically a day dedicated to the Arctic Monkeys.

I'm 90% sure they'll be showcasing certain new tracks throughout the day, and add that to a Live Lounge performace with Jo Wholey were I presume they'll be doing Brianstorm and a cover AND the gig in London will be broadcast on Zane Lowe's show from 7PM along with interviews and other things I think.

Well it'll be interesting to see what they do infact cover that's for sure. :D I have a feeling they might do something like Girlfriend or something like that, but I think it'll be easier to guess what they won't be covering that what they actually will cover!

I remember last year they were talking about doing a cover of either 'Push The Button,' or 'Red Dress,' by Sugababes. That would be quite odd actually but they've done 'Love Machine,' so maybe they will do eventually.

Well they may do that actually. :o I think they'd rather go with covering a British act than an American act tbh. I think a cover of Push The Button would be hilarious.

Starsailor (I think it was them) have already done a cover of 'Push The Button,' as have Orson, I definitley think Arctic's would be the only version to have a chance at rivaling the original despite Orson's being quite good in an hilarious way. Orson get critiscised a lot but personally I think their a good band, just not as good as Arctic Monkeys.

I didn't like Orson's version at all. I really liked No Tomorrow by them but everything else they released was just a bit poor IMO. :(

Well I really wanna know what they're going to be covering. Guess we'll just have to wait until Monday.

'No Tomorrow,' was definitley the stand-out track on 'Bright Idea,' for them and although it wasn't a great album it wasn't paticularly bad either imo, hopefully they will maybe manage to put a few more brilliant tracks on their follow-up because if they don't their career lucks set to be over, infact it's probably in need of revival already after 'Already Over,' failed to reach the top 200. As for their cover version of 'Push The Button,' I don't think it was meant to be good, the point I was trying to get across was not that it was paticularly good in a good sense but quite good in a comical sense.

I wonder if they'll cover something by Dizzee Rascal now that they've worked with him. ^_^

Unless they come up with another track like No Tomorrow I think they'll flop quite badly tbh. I dunno why their follow up material did that bad to promote the single and chart wise as they weren't bad singles or anything.

That would be good as well. Imagine Alex MC'ing.

Well 'Bright Idea,' wasn't terribly unsucessful but after that everything seemed to just go a bit downhill for them, I think they'll struggle to make another track up to the quality of 'No Tomorrow,' unless they can draft some top producers in.

 Somehow if that happened I don't think Alex would MC, he would probably just sing it. That could work actually as it would be like the band were trying to make the song their own by altering it slightly.

Imagine them working with Timbaland. :o Seems to be all the range for artists these days.

Yeah you're probably right. I can't imagine him MC'ing. I'm trying to imagine as version of Fix Up, Look Sharp with no rapping now.

I think Orson should work with Timbaland, infact I think Arctic Monkeys should work with him too even if it only be for just one song because that song with Fall Out Boy that he's made is quite outstanding, by rights it should be his next single but it's not.

 I actually want to hear them record it, would be very interesting.

Everyone should work with Timbaland. But then again every artists would nearly sound the same and there'd be no originality so maybe not.

Well it's not too long to wait now. :cheer: ^_^

 Not everyone should work with Timbaland because some artists are so c**p that he wouldn't be able to make them better, and Timbaland should have half of the decent artists and then the other half of decent artists can work with Dallas Austin. However that would also mean that Timbaland wouldn't be known for making massive hits anymore because if half of the stuff in the charts was created by him then that would mean that some artists would have to flop.

Hopefully Arctic Monday will help 'Brianstorm,' sell well though. :D

Timbaland is a great producer, and I don't know why everyone has suddenly jumped on the Timbaland bandwagon I mean, Nelly, Justin, Duran Duran etc etc, but hey it's doing good for those artists and it works in Timbaland's favour as he makes a whole load of money and he creates an album with tons and tons of huge stars.

Nelly Furtado was actually the first artist really outside of Timbaland's usual genre to work with though so she didn't really jump on the bandwagon as such. It does make you wonder which artists are going to work with him in the future though, I mean Sugababes have already worked with Dallas Austin so would it be too over the top thinking that they could even do so? :o

Sugababes working with Timbaland would be good. They'd have a much more Urban vibe and everything though compared to that Pop vibe they have at the moment, but I think it would be a welcome change for them.

Personally I think Sugababes need to create something much more risk-taking because evidently they're not being very sucessful at the moment, however it's been rumoured that on their next album they're working with Jamie T & Akon to name a couple.

Working with Jamie T! :o Now that would be VERY interesting. Not sure how the Akon thing would work though.

I agree that Jamie T would be interesting but Akon could either be really good or really bad.

The artists they have been rumoured to be working with for their next album are Plan B, Akon, Orson, Joss Stone, The Streets, Dizzee Rascal, Jamie T, JC Chasez, Dallas Austin & William Orbit. Only Dallas Austin and William Orbit have been confirmed so far though.
