In total STEPS have sold over 25 million records, including 15 million albums worldwide.
I know Wikipedia is often wrong, but is this actually true?

Also, the Steps page says Lisa ;

revealed in an interview with an Australian radio station that earlier rumours of a Steps reunion offer are true. She states that at the end of 2005, they were given such an offer, but "the time didn't feel right".
and quote's Faye as saying ;
''The record companies have been asking us for years. But because we are all busy, it hasn't happened. "We meet up regularly and the connection between us is still thriving. "I think we will come around to reforming at some stage, but it will happen when everyone has time.''

Could the reunion happen in the next few years? They're probably not making anything near the amount of money they did whilst in band - so could this be the driving force?

Oh, and one last question. How come most of Steps records arent available for download on iTunes? Is it because the record label has'nt let the songs be released?

Hmmm would love to help you but dont think I can lol. But I dont think they sold 25 million :mellow: maybe 10 million? Lisa Scott Lee is probably quite well off atm, what with Dancing on ice, a few hit dance singles and an album coming up.

Their back together aren't they?

I'm sure Radio 1 said so

PLEASEEE tell me thats not a joke!

I hope this isn't true, all still hungey for fame either that or their money is running low.

Their is enough $h!te out there bringing these back will add to it.

Hmmm, singles-wise in the UK sales wern't huge, apart from Tragedy/Heartbeat which sold a million. Album sales in the UK were quite substancial though.

They were quite big in east-Asia and sold well in many countries.

I guess it could be true.

They were out at a time where single sales were huge.

Their song 5,6,7,8 sold loads without even making the top 10.

I doubt those sales are 100% true and pfft even though I like them - a comeback would flop worse than All Saints.

there world wise sales in total are 12 million

In 2003, Lisa claimed they had sold just over 15 million. That included sales after they'd split.

oh i dont agree with that in as much that record sales werent 'huge'... bigger then today maybe, but historically acts like westlife when at #1 wouldnt have made the top 40 (on sales) compared to the early 80's.

I think its around 15 million ^_^ Some of the singles sold massively, and the albums did well here! Plus in Asia they were HUGE!
I adore Steps to this day, but they shouldn't reform ... the music scene won't accept them right now.

So are we on agreement that the statement is true?
That cheesy pop just isn't selling at the moment. It's had its day really.

but i suppose Butlins and the Phoenix Nights circuit will always want their revival groups
