Igv-7S4gP-k Pink Floyd - Apples & Oranges The Orange Lights feature Paul Tucker from the Lighthouse family and a lot of their songs were co-writes with Martin Brammer of the Kane Gang. so the next song is Motortown by the Kane Gang vid here: http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=39074
June 7, 200718 yr You've done it again :o . I wanted to go from Pink Floyd to the cover art of Animals which featured a pig flying over Battersea Poewr Station. From there to Power Station which featured Robert Palmer which would lead to his Johnny and Mary. But I can't do that now. So, from Motortown to The Motors - Airport liH-uW2iymk Edited June 7, 200718 yr by Suedehead2

June 8, 200718 yr St Etienne is where Michael Owen scored his famous goal against Argentina. That tournament saw Baddiel and Skinner and The Lightning Seeds top the charts for a second time with Three Lions. An earlier Lightning Seeds song was reguarly used in Match of the Day, namely Lightning Seeds - Life of Riley Z28cGUc0Ri0
June 8, 200718 yr Author Marc Riley is a former member of The Fall (bass & lead guitarist) before cheifly becoming famous as Lard for his radio shows on Radio 1 with Mark Radcliffe. After they went their separate ways Marc Riley became a host on Radio6 Music & Mark Radcliffe become a host on Radio 2, where he is currently a host with journalist turned Radio DJ with Stuart Maconie (from which I've nicked this feature) of their nightly shows Monday to Thursday 8PM to 10PM. Stuart Maconie also presents a show every Saturday afternoon on Radio 2, but this weekend he has a guest hosting it - Jarvis Cocker. Hence: 6-MHoq9N2co Pulp - Razzmatazz
June 8, 200718 yr First I should point out that Nicky Horne did a similar programme on Capital Radio in the late 1970s. I suspect someone else had probably done it before him. Anyway, Jarvis Cocker has substituted for various presenters over the years. In the early 1990s he stood in for Gary Crowley (another ex-Capital Radio man) a few times. One of the features of Crowley's show was the demo clash featuring demos by unsigned artists. However, on one occasion when Jarvis presented the programme, he played demos by bands who had later achieved success although he changed the names to disguise the fact. They included an early Pulp demo and, in fact, all the tapes were pretty awful. Another one of the demos were by a band he called Felt. They were actually Suede back in the days when Justine Frischmann was in the band. That's a very long-winded way of getting to Suede - The Drowners LDyKYlMunQk
June 8, 200718 yr Author Suede were one of two London based bands in 1992 sited by the media with kicking off the whole post Grunge Brit-Pop scene. The other was of course another band with a link to Justine Frischmann : HlY6rmQfNt4 Blur - Popscene
June 8, 200718 yr I could move on to Elastica but that would be stretching the Justine link a step too far.  Time for another double link. At around the time Popscene was released, Blur played a Shelter benefit gig at the Forum in Kentish Town - the first time I saw them live. The gig has gone down in music history as their shambolic performance nearly ended their career. However, they could be said to have risen from the dead. After Parklife revived their career, Blur played a gig at Mile End (yes, I was there too  ). They were supported by Sparks (brilliant, of course) and the Boo Radleys. So, that gives us Boo Radleys - Lazarus UkxZBWP7qC8
June 8, 200718 yr Author The Jam recorded a song called Liza Radley. It was the B-side of this UK#1 hit single: Xy3Qpi_XfDA The Jam - Start!
June 8, 200718 yr Paul Weller was brought up in Woking. While he was living in Woking, H G Wells wrote War of the Worlds and he had the Martians landing on Horsell Common. So, from the musical version, Jeff Wayne - Eve Of The War cRp5pndJw3s
June 9, 200718 yr The big hit single from Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds was Forever Autumn by Justin Hayward who started out as Marty Wilde's lead guitarist but graduated into 9muzyOd4Lh8 The Moody Blues - Nights in White satin´67
June 9, 200718 yr Author Justin Haywood is a famous musician from the town of Swindon in Wiltshire. The most famous band to come from Swindon is XTC. Hence I have to select: uLSkC4N1BIc XTC - This Is Pop (PS. The video was shot on location in a Cash & Carry less than 2 miles away from where I live, and I worked there as a student temp job during the mid to late 1980s!)
June 9, 200718 yr Justin Haywood is a famous musician from the town of Swindon in Wiltshire. The most famous band to come from Swindon is XTC. Hence I have to select: uLSkC4N1BIc XTC - This Is Pop however even tho this is pop, this is not the song pop  p-hsT1oXrdg Tearin' Up My Heart by *nsync much better than JT's last 2 singles, but the one with TI was cool
June 9, 200718 yr Author *NSync's lead singer Justin Timberlake is soon to be heard on the new single"Night Runners" by 1980s Pop Legends Duran Duran so lets have one of Double D's lesser known tracks from the Rio album.......... 8t2emHB1NhA Duran Duran - Lonely In Your Nightmare
