The only other band I can think of with the word 'Elevators' in their name is the 13th Floor Elevators, so we'll have them with their debut 'You're Gonna Miss Me'.

Flavour Flav has recently appeared in an MTV Reality TV dating show.

Another artist who is no stranger to Reality TV and finding his future wife (or to the Flava) is from 1996:

Peter Andre - Flava

Sorry the track is rubbish, but it fits the link perfectly.... :D

Peter Andre has a bit of a thing for Disney ballads having released both 'Kiss the Girl' and 'A Whole New World' as singles. So that takes us to another Disney song from 1973's 'Robin Hood', the whistle classic 'Whistle Stop'* by Roger Miller.

* - can I have a guarantee that the next song in the chain won't feature dancing hamsters?

Roger Miller's most famous song was his USA#4 & UK#1 hit King Of The Road.

This song was covered by the Proclaimers which leads us to....

Proclaimers - Letter From America

The Proclaimers are from Scotland not America, so let's use that as a title,

David Bowie - This is not America

A group of six (and very talented) young Americans are The Spinto Band

So...let's go for their biggest hit to date 'Oh Mandy'.

One of Shakin' Stevens' biggest hit was the pondering, sprawling opus 'Oh Julie'. It was a smash hit in 1982... and he's the biggest single artist in the UK of the whole of that decade.

If you love Radiohead, Autechre or Aphex Twin... 'Oh Julie' is sure to provide you with extreme aural pleasure...

Kraftwerk's the Model is actually from 1978, it was actually Computer Love backed with The Model which reached #1

however Kraftwerk are German and so is Westbam

Ummm................

Westbam - Bam Bam Bam has the same word repeated three times in the title.

So does....

Paul McCartney & Wings - Hi Hi Hi

Paul McCartney was a member of the Beatles (and not 'the Beetles') and that record with wings Hi Hi Hi was a hit in the 1970s

Michael Nesmith was a member of the Monkees (and not the Monkeys  ) the format of the series being influenced by the Beatle's Hard Day Night. Michael Nesmith had a hit in the 1970s with Rio.

so the next record is Michael Nesmith and Rio (and i wonder can the next poster to this game come up with something more intersting than the easy option of posting Duran Duran's Rio as the link!!!! )

Mmmmmmmm. :coffee:

Michael Nesmith wrote the debut hit for Linda Ronstadt - Different Drum.

This track featured a backing band called The Stone Pony's who later changed their name to .........

The Eagles - Take It Easy

Let's try and revive this.

The Eagles is the nickname of Crystal Palace FC. The only band with FC in their name (excluding actual football teams) are the Sultans of Ping FC. So that leads to the classic

Sultans of Ping FC - Where's Me Jumper?

Well, the only OTHER band to have FC in their name are FC Kahuna. Big Kahuna Burger is the ficticious fast food restaurant in Pulp Fiction so that leads us to Pulp and their greatest song 'Babies'

Pulp come from Sheffield which has given us many great bands over the years (shame about Def Leppard). A Sheffield band often overlooked are the Dylans whose best song was Godlike.

Obviously, the next person has to try and avoid the obvious link to Mr. Zimmerman.

Only other FC retro babies that occurs to me is the 1992 single

Simply Red - For Your Babies

Mick Hucknall's band was apparently called Simply Red in support of his Football team 'Manchester United'
