Posted April 19, 200719 yr From www.sugarmagazine.co.uk Two b-sides to MAMIDan sings backing vocals on 2 songs on TTLFToday The Sun's On Us and If You Go are both being considered for the next release Here's the whole thing: Steve: What music are you enjoying at the moment? arcade fire, elo, amy winehouse, julie london. eclectic as ever! Steve: Are you still writing music now, in preparation for a forth album, or do you give yourself some time off? nah. time off. writing albums for me is like writing a diary. i have to have a break in between so i have lots of juicy diary entries... Emily: what is you favourite shop? wow, just the one? i love h+m for the high street then portobello market for vintage and new designers. Alan Smith: Hi Sophie on your new video what is your favourite dance move you did? well i was doing some fancy footwork but there was no camera for that!else i quite like the Vogue style dance moves. Lynsey: Hi Sophie, Im a huge fan, and have been since theaudience...which im listening to right now, actually. :) Im from Scotland but live in California, and the only place i hear your songs is in Mexico. Murder on the Dancefloor is still going strong at the clubs there, can you believe that? So when are you coming across the pond? And why aren't you here already? I always have to buy your cd's off the internet from UK websites and it takes forver to get here. hahaha! :) Everytime i let me friends listen to your songs, they love it! I think you'd be a huge hit over here. i go where i'm invited, lynsey. i had a fabulous time in mexico when i went there. maybe america will come calling at some point with this record. else it'll just be for holiday's like it is now... thanks for your support, though Leila: do you feel any pressure from the media about current body image expectations and being a 'size 0'? i think every generation has a 'size 0' debate- just under different things. people's relationship in the west with figure and diet has been complicated for generations. it's not a new thing. i just try to be sensible and healthy. i of course want to look good but in don't believe in diets or any extremes. essentially it comes down to self esteem. Steve: Do you read your own reviews? i would love to lie and say no but of course i have a little look. it's hard not to. it's like hearing what people are saying about you when you're not in the room! Nicki: What are the 3 best things about your life at this moment and do you think they would be the same if you weren't famous? the three best things would not be affected if i weren't famous but as one of them is performing it would be affected if i weren't successful! the other two are richard and sonny. these things would remain. Inês: Hello :) I'd like to ask how do you manage to have your own career, having a husband who is away for long sometimes and having also a small child? I mean, you can always pay a babysitter, but how can you still be creative at work and spend quality time with your family? there isn't an easy answer. like any working mum sometimes i feel i've done it right and sometimes i feel i'm getting it wrong. i just remember to take my lead from sonny and richard. if we're all happy, then the bigger picture is that we're doing ok. Emily: who is your style icon? julie andrews and the cast of 'grease' and 'guys and dolls' NewYorkDave: Can you confirm that following "me and my imagination" (which the song and video are great) that the single following that will be "Today The Sun's On Us" not sure yet, dave. it's a possiblity. what do you think? emily: Have you always wanted to sing? Or did you have other ambitions in life. when i was little i wanted to be a ballerina or a nurse. NewYorkDave: Sophie - how was your holiday in the USA? Did you do anything special? i had a lovely time. ate at a fantastic restaurant called The Spotted pig. yum! Leonie Sta: what's your favorite time of the day? my time of day is the nightime NewYorkDave: Do you think there might ever be a time when both you and The Feeling do a tour or a single concert together? that would be very lovely Phil: Your videoclips seem to have the same signature. Are they all directed by the same person? nope. i guess i am always after the same thing! Steve: Is If You Go going to be released as a single? People who aren't even your usual fans are raving about it! I have to say, it is a beautiful song. thanks i am hoping it'll be released at some point. maybe next? alex: was it fun having a couple of years off?? :) yes! having a life outside of music and work has been amazing. i advise anyone in my position to do the same. Alan: What is your favourite song you have written through all the 3 albums? golly. bit tricky to say. each album has a favourite two or three for me.sorry. daniel bristow: hey sophie, me again....(gosh i love u), this is just a suggestion!!...can u put a b-side for your third single where u sing with dan from the feeling? not a bad idea, daniel. trouble is i have so many good songs i couldn't fit on the album to use first! you can hear dan sing BV's on two songs on the album... briony x: hey x tbh iv never really been into ur music but then mum played ur music non stop and luved it.. lol but my main question is how do yoo prepare for a concert with make up etc ? love bri x i hust pile it on! Emma: Hi, I love your music and just wondered, did you ever go to a high school called King Charles? My friend is convinced he went to school with you. Love Emma nope, sorry NewYorkDave: What book are you reading, or would recommend at the moment? i read a great book last year called 'extremly loud, incredibly close' Alan Smith: Sorry just a little random question who is your favourite abba member? well i always felt sorry for the brunette as most poeple liked the blonde so maybe her- the under dog vote! emily: Who influenced the music you sing? julie andrews and madonna dasie reid: is it hard with the baby and your singing? not hard. sometimes a bit more complicated but as for the actual singing, sonny and i sing together at home all the time Leonie Sta: Are you coming to the netherlands any time soon? i am travelling all over europe over the next little while so yes Nicki: How hard is it to achieve what you have achieved?? I think what you have done so far is amazing and only something i could dream of. wow what a question. i am ambitious i suppose so i always think of all the people who've achieved more. i think i feel more proud of myself now than ever though with my personal achievments - sonny and marriage. in my line of work it's hard not to get trapped in a kind of jacob's ladder - always wanting what the next rung up. i am happy with how things have gone up to now but hope the best is yet to come! nat: do you ever get fed up with people asking questions about you and dan? no. i am thrilled it all worked out with our writing together. how lovely! Alan Smith: What does love it is love really mean? it's an affirmation of that emotion. a kind of 'hurrah'! NewYorkDave: Have you gotten another pet hamster yet (after the unfortunate, "accident" to the first one)? i am not be trusted with small pets. Ellen: Do you prefer designer or high street when it comes to fashion?????? i am a tart and a disloyal one at that. i'll shop anywhere! Phil: What city did you like best in your trips? paris, new york, LA, hamburg and anywhere in italy Steve: Have you heard any of the Feelings new material? Any duets with Dan planned?! the new demos are fabulous Ams: Heya, Who is most likely to be your fashion icon?? xoxox as i said before, the cast of grease and guys and dolls.oh and jessica rabbit Emily: who is your favourite designer? chanel Anthony from Australia: Is there going to be a b-side for 'me and my imagination'? of course! there's two coming,,, Emily: will you be queuing for the new anya hindmarch bag? nope but i approve of the idea of recycling Kirsty Longland: What have you enjoyed most in all your career? xox the sequinned pants i wore when i did GAY Phil: Are you planning any co-op with another famous artist in the near future? maybe to...help you go overseas? it has to feel right but maybe a-ha would work with me on the next album... Nicki: What do you think is your greatest achievement so far musically? i suppose it is murder on the Dancefloor for going on such a journey around the world blondie<3: Hi Sophie, how do you get that red lippy so perfect? xx pratice, my dear. NewYorkDave: Would you ever consider starring in a Broadway show? maybe... it'd have to be the right part though. i'd like to do a musical one day Simon: What is Sonny getting for his birthday on monday? there's this game he's seen an advert for called pirana panic. i have to get him that blondie<3: Is it hard being famous with all the rumours and paparazzi and stuff? xxx i am too boring in my homelife to have much trouble outside office hours Kirsty Longland: You always look so classy.. What's your secret? xx thank you. i find taking three hours to get ready does the trick Simon: Did you perform in scotland last night? i did Steve: What's the funniest/wierdest story you have ever read about yourself? i keep tryin to start a few off. i want to be regarded as eccentric.. can you start some rumours off for me? Louie Vanstone: I am a huge fan, own all your albums and love all of your songs, but i am abit curious about your beliefs on animal rights, i am fully awear of your peta poster and know you are anti fur, but i believe you eat meat, so i am just wondering what your view is, :D meat is debatably something humans need in their diet. wearing fur for fashion has no positives. it has no excuses. Emily: i saw your interview on elleuk.com at the elle style awards. what's the best thing about those parties? dancing with my husband and people watching Steve: Shall we start a rumour that you are a secret raver and can be found at various underground parties all over London?! that's a good start... Hollie Price: How do you avoid being noticed in the street and being asked for photos/autographs? i used to wear my glasses and no make up but it back fired. people would recognise me and just think i looked really rough in real life! which maybe i do. Nicki: do you have a myspace that is actually you and not a 'fake' sophie? yes but i stopped because someone frojm my website started up loading my personal photos onto the site. that defeated the object andre: Greetings Sophie! Whether is not present at you in plans to arrive to Russia once again? Exuse me for bad knowledge of the English language. Thank you! i am going to st petersburg next month Gary Wilmott: I like biscuits. Would you ever do a song about biscuits? (it would be ok if it was just a b-side) i write songs about biscuits all the time... Ellen Scott: Whats ur wors fashion mistake?? too many to mention. tartan tights at school rings a bell.. NewYorkDave: Do you search for videos on you on YouTube? i like the feedback to my new videos and sometimes it's funny to see old performances but it's not a regular hobby of mine Ellen Scott: whos the best celeb you've met?? john travolta or dick van dyke Kit: Did you enjoy filming 'I won't change you?' That video got some grief on youtube but i think it's amazing thanks. some videos work and some don't. i won't comment on the songs and videos i like best because i don;'t like it when i have a favourite song then find out the artist hates it. Alan Smith: are you really like that at a dancefloor, tripping people up all the time lol ? of course : our time is up people but i hope you liked our conversatoin. i typed this myself hence all teh mistakes. not easy in these nails! take care.. see you again i hope Sx
