I absolutely love this album! Been listening to it all week  There are a few instant tracks like Fluorescent Adolescent, Only Ones Who Know, Do Me A Favour and 505 and there are a few growers too. It's less pop and a lot heavier than the last one, the tempo is also more varied than the last one. There is definitely a lot of progression from the last one here ^_^ It doesn't feel like WPSIATWIN so it's basically what I wanted from them.

There is nothing on this album I'd give below 7 or 8 out of 10 on this album after many listens already but I can't say if it's better than the last one just yet but I'm pleased with it. I can see why some people who liked the last one wouldn't like this one and I can see why people who didn't like the last one would like this one so it's actually really interesting to read what people are thinking of this one. ^_^

Opinions?

Absolute class. So many potential singles on there.

It's now one of only about 3 albums in my collection that I can listen to all the way through without having to skip a song.

Definately my favourite album of the year so far

To be honest, I really thought nothing of it at first. Now my opinon has completley changed. It takes a while to get to grips with all the tracks but the album really is just superb. Everything has improved from the first album; better signing, drumming, bassing etc etc.

It's also mixed together greatly and you can really tell that the same person who produced the album is the same person who produced Klaxons album.

Is hard to compare to the first album though, as they're both very different albums. Some people think the first is better than the second, some people think the second is better than the first and there's the they're both as good as each other opinion and that's where i'm sat at the moment.

I'm actually with the opinion that FWN is better :o WPSIATWIN has it's not so good tracks like Riot Van and Vampires where as FWN is the only album I've ever bought and had every single track in double figures for play count in two days

Same here, and im still at that stage ^_^ That said, i have only listened to it about 2/3 times, so i'll love it soon :P

It is a very good album.

More diverse than the debut, with a more consistent selection of songs.

Easily an 8 or a 9 out of 10 for me.

Apart from the opening single & opening track my favourites are Fluorescent Adolescent, 505, Teddy Pickler & Only Onew Who Know.

The only thing flawed with it is Alex Turner's voice. I'm sorry he just sounds too much like George Formsby's great-grandson for my liking. I half expect Alex to launch into "When I'm Cleaning Windows" or "Mr Wu", etc.

I got this today and have now listened twice. I'm still not too sure though. It's all good, there isn't really a bad song on it, no filler. But there's also no killer! In that sense it's a bit of a disappointment. "505" seems like the best but it's certainly no "Dancefloor", "Mardy Bum" or "A Certain Romance". And "Flourescent Adolescent" - fuss over nothing.
I've only listened to it once so far, but I really liked it on the first listen, quite a few stood out and I'm sure more will grow on me over time. Two good albums now. :D

first it was quite a shock to me.

then i thought it was great.

now i like it even more than their debut.

absolutely great.

even if its too early to say , its my number one album of the year.
