I'll start to get worried when it's defenite

Personally, I wouldn't mind it that much, but if Rob duets with 50 cent I'm afraid a lot of the fans that are left (in the UK especially) and desperately want him to ballads again will go off him completely. But maybe Rob is just past caring after Rudebox and everything that went with it, and I could understand that too.

I don't see how it would fit in with Swing next (and that's pretty sure as Rob said it himself in Iowa) - hm, could be interesting if he had a swing album/single out and a song with Fiddy to follow

Or actually, why not put the 50 Cent duet on the swing album

Could it be just a PR ploy for 50cents? he has an album out and he knows just how big Robbie is in Europe.

Because I know that when he was in Berlin, he thought the crowd of girls outside the hotel were for him, and in fact they were there waiting for Robbie..

I bet he couldn't believe it lol.

A question.... What do you think.....

Can anyone see Rob doing ballads & rock anthems again like he used to....or has he moved on from all that.....................just wondering in general what you all think......................

What do you think his next original album will be like.....

Daft questions I know.........but..................

Oh I definatly think he will go back to his roots at some stage. But I definatly don't think it will be the next studio album. Who knows what the next album will be like, but Rob said himself, it will be nothing like IC/Escapology and nothing like Rudebox. But we do know Mark Ronson and Soul Mekanik are involved. And by now, Rob must be hundreds upon hundreds of tracks of all different gears. Who knows what it will be like. Possibly even opera

Well that is quite interesting then ....his middle of the road fans in the UK did not seem to be too happy with his Rudebox direction..... do you think that this will continue & that from now on he will end up with a smaller fanbase ( in particular the Uk )....

I like the direction that his music is taking & would like to see him experiment some more ( even if its only to see how fan he can stretch himself artistically ... his talent is so varied in comparison to most other artists out there )...

Maybe Rob realises that if he wants to do different things artistically, then it has to be at the expense of losing some of the fanbase that he started out with & recognse that his original fanbase will not buy into his new stuff .

A duet with 50 Cent !!! Not that long ago they were supposed to be in a fight ^_^

But they cleared that all up in the German show Wetten das !

whatever direction Rob wants to go in is fine with me, I'm with him for the long haul, but I wouldn't mind him moving away from the ballads and rock anthems of yester year. Rudebox is brilliant, I'd take any of it over a ballad any day.

I love the direction he's been going in and want him to continue exploring new and different sounds, taking risks and doing the kind of music he wants, the kind that satisfies him personally and not trying to please anyone else. Yes, by going in different musical directions he may lose a few fans but at the same time he gains new fans as well. At the end of the day he has to feel good about what he's produced and feel good about himself and he can only do that by pleasing himself and not the fan base.

really sorry, but what does what happened a year ago or how big a crowd outside some hotel was, have to do with 50 Cent saying he and Rob might collaborate together ?? We know their people have been in touch and that Rob wanted to work with him, he said so himself in the Big Issue interview. Maybe since then they have been in the process of collaborating ??

Ofcourse those fans hanging on for dear life after Rudebox would not be happy to hear he may be collaborating with another rapper, and if he does he surely will lose those fans but the only way to grow and progress in life and in one's career is to take chances. Playing it safe won't get you anywhere and will make life very boring. Its one of the things I love about Rob, he always does something different, always does his own thing, no following the pack for him. I'm excited to hear what he comes up with for his next album.

I hope he does something different with Swing. Knowing Rob I'm sure he'll put his own unique spin on whatever songs he covers. I'm hoping there will be more original material, I'm sure if he put his mind to it he can come up with some swing - y songs B)

Yes, I remember watching that.

They were playing footy together.

That "fight" never existed. Another story made up by the press, as Rob himself said on Wetten Dass back then

I think Susie has got a good point that 50 Cent might just be using Rob's name for promo and attention, he wouldn't be the first to do it. -_-

Yes but does 50 Cent really need to use Robbie for promo?

In the UK and Europe, definatly. His main market is the US. Once he mentioned Rob, it is news all of Europe, and read by millions. ^_^

Absolutely right HM, 50cents is not so popular here, and he flippin knows how big Robbie is, how many times have we sussed out a PR whammy, when an album is out, the last being Mel C.

50cents is doing the same, its funny just how much people do not realise just how big Robbie is outside the UK.

Yes 50 Cent is using Rob to generate some interest for himself but we know that there's been interest from both of them to work together so Fiddy may not be talking completely out of his ass.
