April 29, 200718 yr could be a few clearance sales this summer IF Arsene Wenger leaves Arsenal from Bolton and from West Ham if they go down We've been linked with Tevez a couple of times now, which would be great if it were all confirmed. I think he'd suit our style of play ^_^
April 29, 200718 yr Birmingham will survive fairly comfortably I reckon... back to Division One for Sunderland though in summer 08 though I reckon. :( Whoever comes up with them will also return.
April 29, 200718 yr It'll be tough for both of them to survive i reckon. I reckon Sheffield United will probably go down next season (assuming they're safe this season) and then 2 from the 3 who come up. But that could all change during the summer..........

I beg to differ. At least £30m to spend on players this summer, which is more than most other prem clubs have. We have a good, strong-minded manager who is backed fully by the board, and a team who atm are as passionate about the sport as the fans here. I can see us finishing quite comfortably mid-table, if im honest
April 29, 200718 yr Well all the promoted clubs have a great chance of staying in the Premiership IF they spend money. If you've not got the money to afford wages and to splash out on players then it's almost drawn on the line that you'll be relegated. It can be a big risk to take, with spending money you haven't got, but chances are if you don't spend quite a bit of money then you'll be relegated.

And with an ex-man u star like Keane at the helm, we can attract the bigger names and actually be able to afford them. We have good scouting and coaching staff as well, which is a bonus Sunderland are STAYING in the Premiership

Well this time last season I would have agreed 100%. But surely after this season Reading have completely blew this theory out the water? Spent next to no money pre-season and brought in a few essentials in January (Bikey, etc.) but with a deteremined manager and headstrong players they're now heading for Europe. The way Sunderland are acting towards their football this season they're no different. Even if they didn't spend a load of notes in the summer they could still finish well away from relegation imo.
April 30, 200718 yr Indeed - As long as Keane stays I cannot see Sunderland get relegated. I can see Fulham, Wigan or Man City go down for sure. Fulham will rue sacking Coleman and Man City the same when Pearce inevitably goes. All too often people forget how important the manager is. Actually, Bolton could end up going down now for that exact reason.
April 30, 200718 yr The extra money they have to spend is cancelled out by the money the other teams already there have to spend. More teams will want players inflating their prices and the best players will all go to a club that's been in the Premiership for a few seasons rather than an unproven team that's only just come up. As much as I hate it, It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if the three teams that come up go back down again.
May 5, 200718 yr I am very pleased for Roy Keane His first season as rookie boss to take Sunderland up. :D
May 6, 200718 yr I am very pleased for Roy Keane His first season as rookie boss to take Sunderland up. :D I get the feeling that Roy Keane is going to turn out to be an excellent Manager. He most likely gives it 100%. Let's face it if Roy Keane's your manager you wouldn't be expecting an easy ride as a player.
May 6, 200718 yr Well Sunderland were bottom of the League when Roy took over, heck even LEEDS UNITED were above them. They're gonna be quite a force next year.
May 6, 200718 yr :yahoo: Sunderland go up into the Premiership in style as champions winning 5 - 0 :yahoo: Think things will be different this time with the partnership of Keane & the mighty Quinn. :cheer:
May 6, 200718 yr I'm absolutely buzzing, and im 110% certain that im not the only Sunderland fan feeling this way atm :yahoo: Can't wait until next season.. prem games again, and actually winning them  Got my season ticket all ready and waiting... so excited  Oh, and thanks to Preston North End who did us a great favour today  Bring on the scum! :yahoo:
May 6, 200718 yr For anyone whose interested, heres how we did it in style today v Luton: Luton 0 - 5 Sunderland B)
May 6, 200718 yr I am intrested. i can't belive that we did not get the cup at that game. :( Same. Our last game really should have been at home :(
May 7, 200718 yr well back when the fixture list is done, they can't anticipate who will be top or whether the title would have already been decided I don't understand why they can't present the trophy away from home
