Scotty, I don't think we had that song in the US.

The only one I remember from The Verve was Bittersweet Symphony and I think they died out after that one ;)

Hmm, I don't really think 'Angels' is very sad tbh. But it's great to see it high up on these countdowns as always. The Drugs Don't Work is a good choice for #1.

i agree completely well done to Richard and the boys - The Drugs Dont Work

The US seem to miss out of sooo much amazing music. :( The Verve are one of the best bands of the 90's imo, they have so many amazing songs, so it's shocking they died out. I bet if they were meaningless r&b they would've be huge.

EDIT: I just checked and the Drugs don't work actually made #22 in the US afterall.

There's a question and answer bit with Mark Ronson in The Guardian Guide today

O brother, where art thou?

That's funny, because I used to be obsessed with that soundtrack, and I went down to New Orleans and sort of found and stalked this guy who'd done the record, Chris Thomas King. I told him I loved his stuff and played him a hip-hop track I'd made from a sample of one of his records, and we sat round his house recording all night. I played Robbie Williams one of his songs called Gaslight, because Robbie wants to make a bluegrass/hip-hop record now.

Take That want Williams back

04/05/2007 - 14:12:57

Reformed British pop group Take That have hinted former band member Robbie Williams may join them on their UK tour later this year.

The Never Forget hitmakers split in 1996 - a year after Williams quit the band - and reunited to record a new album, A Beautiful World, in early last year.

The foursome have admitted they would love to have the Rudebox star - currently seeking therapy in the US for addiction to prescription drugs - join them on stage again.

Singer Howard Donald says: "It would be lovely to have Robbie join us and let's just say we're keeping in touch about it.

"Having Robbie on stage with is to sing a few numbers would be amazing and we'll have to wait and see if he's up for it. We certainly are."

The Beautiful World Tour kicks off in Birmingham, England, in November.

At the risk of getting fired off this site for saying this... I was watching TT today on TV Channel 4 ' Popworld ' singing their new track 'Id' wait for Life ' from their recent album & what came to mind was how comfortably Gary B has relaxed back into his role of lead singer because today the other guys looked definately like the backing singers.

After looking at that I actually cringe at the thought of Rob rejoining them as he would definately not fit into that lineup again.

I wonder do Jason, Howard & Mark see what I see or has it even crossed their minds. Bear in mind I am not a fan of TT, never have been & never will be so I have to admit I am totally biased.

Do I need to go & hide in a cupboard for showing my hand on the matter. :banghead: :naughty: :naughty: :naughty:

well I don't see the need to hide. Worse things have been said about Rob by people that actually called themselves fans and they didn't hide or apologize for their views, I don't see why someone thinks they have to tread on egg shells when its something that may be perceived as negative towards TT. But it seems people tend to start apologizing for their opinion of the boys or anything to do with them, if they think it might be taken negatively.

About Barlow and the boys, well guess he finally got what he wanted and gained 3 back up singers  ... seeing as there is lots of money to made at the moment, I doubt the boys would do anything to jeopardize the cash fall even if they do feel Barlow taking over. Don't bite the hand that feeds you ;)

But you see RF4L I actually do like the boys ....seem like nice lads & I like the track Patience but I get nervous saying what people might percieve as a negative attitude... but then I thought well this is a Robbie Williams forum so why worry. I am not saying anything disrespectful about the guys but I dont like the fact that Gary seems to have fallen back into the role he felt most comfortable last time & that was leader. I may be proved totally wrong when I see the video that goes along with their new track as I have not seen it yet but I know in my mind 100% that I would never be ok with Rob going back to TT ( fulltime ) & I dont think it will ever happen. Its now more obvious than ever that they have absolutely nothing in common anymore, even their music & style now is so different..

Robbie digs gravestones

May 07, 2007

ROBBIE WILLIAMS’ dad Pete has flown to LA to be with his recovering rehab son.

And to take Rob’s mind off his battle with addiction to prescription drugs they travelled around celebrity, er, gravestones.

The pair are big fans of the old swing stars so they went on a spiritual trip to pay their respects at DEAN MARTIN’s burial site at Westwood Memorial Park.

Robbie said: “My Dad has read two books on Dean Martin lately and is a massive fan.

“I thought I should go down and pay my respects. But then I thought, is that bothering him?”

I don’t think Dean would have minded Rob, he’s dead after all.

GRAVE ROBSTER

SINGER'S DEAD-ODD VIDEO

Eva Simpson & Caroline Hedley 07/05/2007

WHOO! Robbie Williams says hanging around celebrity cemeteries is his idea of a dead great day out.

The singer's newest best late mate is Dean Martin - who Rob paid tribute to on his Swing When You're Winning covers album.

Now the 33-year-old wants pals to pop along with him to the Rat Packer's graveside.

In his new video blog a restless Rob leaves buddy Brandon baffled when he asks: "Should we play Fifa 07 on the Xbox - or go to Dean Martin's grave?

"Do you want to come with me and my dad to pay respect to Dean Martin at his graveside?"

Brandon replies: "What with no dancing girls, just three guys standing there. What put this in your mind?"

Robbie, in his first posting to fans since going into rehab in February for addiction to prescription drugs, explains: "My dad read two Dean Martin obituaries and umpteen Dean Martin books.

"He is a massive fan and I've always thought for sometime I should go down and pay my respects to him.

"But at the same time I thought, am I disturbing him?" Hmm...

Rob is fascinated with the supernatural.

The star is obsessed with Yvette Fielding's show Most Haunted on Living TV.

But when he said he wanted to front his own prog about the supernatural for ITV, he met a chilly response from his aides.

We're told: "It was all good to go and the format and co-host had been sorted out but it got the red light from his people who said it wasn't right for his image."

And Rob reckons he's well-tuned in to the spirit world. After recording Swing When You're Winning in 2001 he claimed Frank Sinatra used to pop by his place.

Robbie said: "I like to play my album when I'm at home and Frank approves.

"I can feel his ghost there, watching over me.

"It's a wonderful thing and I hope he feels I have done credit to his songs."

Although Robbie's been back in the studio to work on a follow-up to last year's disastrous album Rudebox, he has only finished one song aptly named Bodies.

He said: "I'm in the process of writing other stuff but because of my ADD [Attention Deficit Disorder], f***it, we haven't got that finished."

Probably because he's too busy loving Angels instead...

But you see RF4L I actually do like the boys ....seem like nice lads & I like the track Patience but I get nervous saying what people might percieve as a negative attitude... but then I thought well this is a Robbie Williams forum so why worry. Oh I didn't say you were being disrespectful about them but I just generally don't understand why people need to precede any comments made about TT with - and I'm not having a dig at them or having to think they need to justify their feelings when saying something about them. Everyone has a right to their opinion and if someone doesn't like any particular one then they can go on their way. It just seems to me that the TT fans get too easily offended and so people walk on egg shells not wanting to offend or upset them. Honestly I don't get it. I guess we Robbie fans have thicker skins and don't get offended too easily - and with everything being said about Rob by press and fans alone we would have every right to. There is a difference between not liking or disagreeing with what's being said and taking it personally. I think that's where the TT fans go overboard, every little remotely negative thing said about 'the boys' is taken as a personal attack

As for Rob going back to TT  That's not even a question. I think it can safely be said that he has no intention of going back. I'm sure he's got much better things to do with his time and his career for that matter.

One of my most favorite things to do is walk around old cemetaries! (Fer realz!!) Robbie and I could have our first date there!!!!

:w00t:

& dance with the ' U2 ' to the sound of ' Rattle & Hum '..... :w00t: very appropraite..... It will take you ages to pick out an outfit for that occasion....you could try the ' Goth ' look.... Im' sure Rob is big into that...

How pathetic, it seems the 3am bitches and Vicky are members of the IS  Oh dear, I wonder if they have recieved their DVDs' yet? :teresa:

Talk about a slow day for news. The sad thing is some of the Sun & Mirror's braindead readers will think Rob actually gave them an interview to get attention. I am sure of it.

Ooooooooooooooh... Talk of The Devil'''''

I love wandering round old graveyards too. I find reading all the headstones really interesting. :o

Yea, that's one of the things my ex-step-dad and I used to do all the time. We'd just drive until we found some isolated cemetary in the middle of nowhere.

I go to Savannah, Georgia a lot and they have REALLY cool ones there!

I like the ones in Highland graveyards. Everyone had the same surname and died about 25. <_<
well along with the braindead readers of the Sun and Mirror are the dingbats, Vicky and the 3am Bitches ... its not even a recent video  So now the readers with an IQ of a flea, will think that he's gone completely bonkers after rehab
