ROBBIE'S NOT COMING HOME

Robbie Williams is not swapping his home in sun-drenched Los Angeles for a place back in Britain with his best pal Jonathan Wilkes.

A national newspaper reported the superstar was hunting for a five-bedroom house in Chiswick, West London, which he could share with Jonathan and his wife Nikki, and one-year-old son, Mickey.

But Robbie's dad Pete Conway, who has just returned from a holiday with his son, says the story is not true.

Pete said: "If it's in the papers, it's wrong. We saw see the story online while I was in America and there's not an ounce of truth in it," he said.

He added: "I've had a wonderful time with my lad in LA, we've just been chilling out and enjoying life."

Arctic Monkeys claim writing gong

Arctic Monkeys, Amy Winehouse and Madonna were among the winners at the 52nd Ivor Novello Awards.

Singer Winehouse scooped Best Contemporary Song for her self-penned hit Rehab.

And the Sheffield-based Arctic Monkeys collected the Best Album Award for Whatever People Say I Am That's What I'm Not.

But the band's single, When The Sun Goes Down, written by frontman Alex Turner, missed out on the award for Best Song Musically and Lyrically - which was handed to songwriter Scott Matthews for his song Elusive.

Pop queen Madonna collected the accolade for International Hit of the Year for the song she co-wrote, Sorry.

It beat stiff competition from Robbie Williams, who was nominated for his critically-panned single Rudebox, which he co-wrote.

Sir Elton John also won an award - the Scissor Sisters smash hit I Don't Feel Like Dancin', which he co-wrote, was named PRS (Performing Right Society) Most Performed Work.

The Feeling were named Song Writers of the Year, while the PRS Outstanding Contribution to Music Award went to DJ Norman Cook.

Casino Royale missed out on Best Original Film Score, which was awarded to Ice Age The Meltdown, while Best Television Soundtrack went to The Virgin Queen.

A Moment Like This, sung by X-Factor star Leona Lewis, was named Best Selling UK Single. Peter Gabriel won the Lifetime Achievement Award, while a Special International Award went to Quincy Jones.

yea, I really didn't think he would win anyway. I really don't understand how it was nominated to be honest, lol!

oh poor rob he should have won
Yeah well, shame, but I can't say I'm shocked he didn't win. -_-

On the money.. Robbie Williams?

Robbie Williams, Terry Wogan, David Beckham, Sir Jimmy Savile and Sir Winston Churchill have all been nominated by the public as potential faces to adorn British banknotes.

All recent additions to notes have come from public nominations.

The most recent was Adam Smith, who replaced Sir Edward Elgar on the £20 note.

:P

He'd never make it onto the Scottish notes. We'd have Wee Jimmy Krankee.....

What a great idea, thats one way to save money isn't. I couldn't part with a Robbie note easily. lol..

But what gets me is why the question mark after Robbie's name, why not after Terry Wogan?

Rudebox was deserving of the Ivor Novello over Madonna's "Sorry" It was more imaginative and original than any of the other nominated work in the category.

I fail to understand if people could like Rock DJ, what wasnt there to like about Rudebox? In fact there was more to like about that record...

Rock DJ was good yes...Rudebox if you actually listen to the end product was very innovative and ultimately was better

I heard Rudebox in a club recently & it was fantastic ..I love the deep base-line

(Just thinking out loud...)

No jumping..... I love Rudebox as well & I play it a lot along with Trippin ( another great track )

Rudebox is not a track that I like RW doing live but it is a great club track & sounds really good on my MP3 player & the Rob definately has great imagination to write such a track in the first place....I think that lyrically it well deserved to be nominated for the Ivor Novello....

WILLIAMS AND CHAMBERS TO REUNITE

http://images.contactmusic.com/images/artist/robbiwwap.jpg

ROBBIE WILLIAMS and estranged songwriting partner GUY CHAMBERS are to reunite as the singer plans his musical comeback. The pair fell out after Williams signed a GBP30million ($60million) song deal with EMI records in 2002, but have now put their differences behind them to record some new tracks. Chambers - who helped to turn Williams into one of the biggest pop sensations in Britain - is hoping to help the troubled star bounce back to the top of the charts. A source tells The Sun newspaper: "Rob's going back into the studio with Guy later in the year. They have been talking on the phone a lot and they are excited by it all." The singer is also reported to be working with other big name music producers Mark Ronson, William Orbit and Soul Mekanik.
