Well there couldn't not be a topic on this  Basically what do you think about it? Is it justified? Is is too big? Does it ever put you off Razorlight or is arrogance a good thing sometimes?

Personally maybe I think it's a little over the top but after I bought Up All Night it shut me up and thought 'well maybe they are quite good' and also he was the original bassist in The Libertines so how could I not like him? :P

 Great topic

I think he's a tit personally :P

But he is a talented one, and he's written some of the most enjoyable songs this side of the millenium. So, imo, it's far too big but justifiably so -_-

The main reason I hate this band with a passion ^_^

I knew there'd be at least someone who would say that :P

It's true, he's a right hypocrite as well <_<

Of the Kooks lead singer: ""He models his style on me. And that record is the most horrible thing I've ever heard. It sounds like the band are literally rolling over, sticking their arse in the air and begging Radio 1 to f*** them..."

He failed to note the irony that Radio 1 had held a "Razorlight Week" recently before that to coincide with and promote the band's second album -_-

Well that's what Radio 1 did for them though :P It's not like they don't do that for lots of bands

Still, he hardly has any right to complain that the Kooks are selling out by being radio-friendly when that's just happened

he is a tosser. but does have talent, because they have had some great songs ^_^

Yeah but The Kooks go a lot further at pretending to be something they're not though  I think I said enough in the Arctic Monkeys forum about them however -_-
Aye, thats true.. The Kooks are decent, but they do rip-off a lot of other bands -_-

And Luke puts on a stupid accent  As I repeatedly say THEY'RE FROM BRIGHTON! <_<

He sounds like a farmer when he sings

"I know, she knows, i'm not fond orraskin' " -_-

Johnny has also claimed that Razor$h!te are better than the Arctic Monkeys, and if that's true I'm a lezza named Vera -_-

Hmmmm... it's a close call

I really dunno. Love them both :(

Arctic Monkeys are streets ahead of most bands at the moment imo ^_^ Including Razorlight :D

Agreed. :D

Anyhow I like Johnny. He does have an ego, but that's what makes him good. Razorlight would never be the success they are, without his ego and it adds a whole new dimension to his personality so he gets a lot of press which is good for the band.

Arctic monkeys are far, far too over-rated. I would have Razorlight any day

I don't think they're over-rated. :P As much as I like Razorlight at times, to be honest a lot of the stuff Johnny sings about has no deeper meanings, where as the Arctics tracks are completley different to that, and that's why I like the Arctic Monkeys so much. ^_^

And of course Johnny wouldnt be caught dead singing in a Sheffield accent

Johnny Borrell does remind me of the popstar (as opposed to the brilliant humanitarian) Bob Geldof. They are both capable of behaving like tossers. Indeed within the last year both Russell Brand & Lily Allen have labelled Bob Geldof with that name.

While as a live performer Johnny Borrell reminds me of ........... Bob Geldof.

While musically & image wise Razorlight remind me of the Irish post punk band ............................ The Boomtown Rats.

Boomtown Rats - Rat Trap (live)

It's no wonder Razorlight were Bob Geldof's favourite band at Live 8 as he has had (I think) four daughters but never had a son.
