Posted May 12, 200718 yr Maroon 5 star criticises Lily Allen Saturday, May 12 2007, 14:47 BST Digitalspy.com By Daniel Kilkelly Maroon 5 star Adam Levine has criticised Lily Allen for her outspoken nature. The Californian singer was horrified when 22-year-old Lily attacked George Bush for being an "a*******" and claimed that Southern Americans are "backwards" recently. "It's not attractive seeing someone spew s**t out of their mouths," Levine told the Daily Star. "She's bigger in the UK but her words still have some effect. Her talking s**t seems to be embraced. "I've said some really negative things about people and I just think, 'Why?' Say whatever you want to if it makes you feel good, but at the end of the day attacking people doesn't make sense and it's hurtful. Lily's young, though, and I'm sure she'll learn eventually." Do you agree with Adam Levine or do you think he is a bit of a moron of the highest order?
May 12, 200718 yr Author Well I did not think I'd be defending Lily Allen a few months ago. But she is a funny, charismatic person when compared to the biggest knob in US pop music at the moment. Adam Levine is the Tom Cruise of US Pop music. There is something unmistakenly cocky about every interview he does, that makes you just want to punch him. Personally, if Adam Levine thinks Lily Allen is in the wrong for attacking George Bush. Then it is he who is the idiot IMHO. Plus his bands new single is unbelievably awful in a third rate Duran Duran (circa 1987) sort of way.
May 12, 200718 yr He is truly AWFUL. Cheesey conservative trash with a band that holds no artist merit or direction. That quote from him came across as rather PATRONISING if nothing else with all that "she'll learn eventually.." c**p. Lily doesn't "attack" either imo, she gives her opinion and its refreshing to see someone do that.
May 13, 200718 yr Well I think Lily Allen is wrong for saying Southern Americans, in general, are backwards because there are alot more people in MY generation that have more liberal ideas then conservative. So I think she is wrong for categorizing everyone in a certain area as "backwards" or whatever. I agree with her on George Bush...but she should think about what she says before she says it. May 13, 200718 yr His band is $h!t. His president is $h!t. His country is $h!t. I have to say I agree on all three
May 13, 200718 yr I didn't mean to offend any Americans btw. :teresa: I had a dream actually I was abusing George Bush at some press conference the other night - how strange. I hate the man. <_<
May 13, 200718 yr To Tyler - I think that Lily is really referring to a particular generation of Southern Americans though, I dont think she's attacking the younger, more liberal views Tyler... She's attacking more an old-fashioned attitude I think, one that still seems stuck in the 50s and Early 60s.... If what you say is true about younger people in the Southern States having more liberal views is true, then that's good, but unfortunately it is not the younger, more liberal voices that are being heard, it is the voice of morons like Bush and Pat Buchanan, the voices of these sleazy Televangelists... The late great comedian Bill Hicks was a Southern man I do believe, and he is someone I respected and admired greatly, so that's how I know that Southern States Americans are not all just a bunch of ignorant crackers.... But Bill just died too soon  , ironically, I reckon he'd've been a great Politician, a real man-of-the-people, if he'd managed to get over his righteous suspicion and hatred of Politicians....
May 13, 200718 yr Anyway, getting back on topic, I think this guy is a bit of a Tommy Tanker to be honest, Lily is entitled to her opinion, she can say what she likes about George Bush, not only is she right, but at the end of the day, he is merely an elected official, a tool of the voters, so criticism of him is totally justified....
May 13, 200718 yr Just wondering, would this topic not be better off in the "Perspectives" Forum????? I dunno, seems a bit of a heavy debate for "Pop" really dunnit....?

May 13, 200718 yr Lily Allen just seems to be saying what all British people are thinking, it's good that she is because Americans are generally ignorant to the rest of the world Maybe its shock on behalf of Americans though, because they probably think British people are prim and proper when in fact modern day British people say what they want and is a far more grittier place than the USA nowadays
May 13, 200718 yr All I can say is that I'm not fond of our president..and no comment to the bashing of Americans since I am one. :P

I understand what you're saying, but she just seems to think she has the right to criticize almost anything...
May 14, 200718 yr I'm no fan of hers, but I find myself sympathising quite a lot with Lily Allen these days. :o Perhaps it's her own fault because of her early image/interviews, but it seems everything she says gets turned into her trying to start a fight or "attacking" someone. For example, I don't think any of her comments about Kate Moss were that bad at all, but the media seemed to make out they were. I think she does have a point about Dubya, and, as with most of Lily's comments, it's nothing that hasn't been said by many people already- including many Americans. And that bloke from Moron 5 is a smug tosser. That band make such bland music.
May 14, 200718 yr Adam Levine is a f***ing t*** and his band are responsible for the most hideously unbearable $h!te music of the past few years...and Orson too. Lily Allen is a mouthy wee tyke, but generally has her heart in the right place.
