June 24, 200718 yr Author Johnny I stopped doing predictions, lol I am just hoping. :DI don't think you can predict much these days with music. I just hope he manages to do reasonably well and can continue to make the kind of music he's making now for a long time to come.
June 24, 200718 yr I just got back from Hyde Park and Gareth was bloddy fantastic. He sang with his band New Kid in Town Was New Kid In Town the Eagles song or one of his own? I agree with whoever said that AOMS should have been the first single. I'm no fan of GG but Changes was truly awful. AOMS is a decent song although not really my thang. He's got a good enough voice - he just needs some better songs. Saw him on Graham Norton on Thursday and thought he came across very well. He's a great role model for other people who suffer from a speech impediment.

Thanks for saying that Suedehead, re New kid in town, I dont know the Eagles song with the same name, maybe you could check Gareth ' s song on his MySpace and see what you think? http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fusea...00-1cafbb9c5ab6
June 24, 200718 yr I am a massive fan of the Eagles and although the two tracks have the same title they are not similar in any way. Gareth's version is a great track and I wish him all the best with his album.
June 25, 200718 yr I have downloaded the album last night and its fantastic, I love it. I especially love the songs 'New kid in town', very upbeat and a catchy tune, I love 'Lost in you', another great upbeat track, I love '19 Min' and 'Cant believe its over' best at the moment. But what I really find great on this album is the actual music side of it, love the instrumentation on the songs. :cheer: Well done Gareth, you made a great album.

It's also far better than Changes and would, IMO, have been a much better comeback single.
June 26, 200718 yr Yes! Yes!Yes! finally got the album :cheer: . Favourite track has to be 'Lost in You' (agreeing with Mr.Popjustice here) upbeat and seeing Gareth perform it live at Hyde Park demonstrates it as "very much a live album". Loving Pictures of the Other Side also Just wish I could let others hear these two upbeat tracks by a link  .Anyone??
June 26, 200718 yr I'm sure there are some YouTube performances posted on here already. I'll see what I can dig up.
June 26, 200718 yr Author You may all think I'm a little biased, but I really do think this is an absolutely brilliant album. I can't decide which track I like best. I'm sure Gareth could have at least another 4 singles off this album if he so wished. I'd strongly recommend everyone gives it a listen. Particularly to Lost In You, New Kid In Town, 19 Minutes and Pictures of The Other side. Those are the songs I think will appeal to non-fans, but for me the tracks Can't Believe its Over, Electric, and particularly Talking Minds, are just stunning. As I said, I just can't pick a favourite. Its not stopped playing since I got it yesterday. Well worth the three years wait to get hold of it. This is definitely the best music Gareth has ever done IMO. Everything about it, from the vocals to the instrumentals is fantastic, with a couple of very interesting moves away from the norm. I just love it
June 26, 200718 yr Top 20 in mids ^_^ Hopefully it can climb to Top 15 by Sunday, and I just found out -_- he was 7 on physicals alone, but ended up at 22 combined
June 26, 200718 yr Thanks Johnny, I hope he can rise a bit too, and not fall. Have you got your copy yet? You wont be dissapointed.

June 26, 200718 yr Simon, its descriped as melodic pop in a review from New music. gareth gates pictures on the other side **** what u need to know bye bye sugary cover versions, hello grown up guitarpop. mr gates is back with album number threeand he,s gone all serious. he sensibly spent the time penning a pile of teary, windswept ballads that wouldn,t have sounded out of place on take thats recent comeback album.as well as string_laden slowie like the hit single changes, there are a few surprises .lost in you has awhiff of kelly clarkson,s since u been gone about it.while the stompy new kid in town gives gareth the chance to let rip and flex his vocal chords abit.its unlikely that he,ll steal james morrison,s crown any time soon, but he,s having agood stab at it. you:ll like this if you like.. serious, swooping take that_type pop. Think of all those men in suits who will be out of jobs :P Nosey thanks for those links to Lost In You and Pictures of the Other Side  . Have heard both upbeat live now and can't decide which I prefer. Pictures is definitely a great track to get the crowd going but am hoping for Lost In You as the next single(shouts loudly to Gareth's record label). Brilliant version of AOMS on Graham Norton but for me the upbeat tracks are the surprise on the album and what makes it so blooming good.
