Absolutely love Talking Minds. Afterglow has grown on me.

 

The clip of Pictures of the Other Side sounds fairly good. It's still not really my sort of music but it sounds like a decent enough song. I still think the record company screwed up badly with the first single. I know a lot of Gareth fans will disagree but Changes was a truly terrible song (IMHO). AOMS was a lot better but the damage had been done. POTOS or another track I heard (can't remember the title I'm afraid) would have been far better choices and would probably have meant people would have given AOMS a fairer hearing.

I think you are right, I personally love Changes but agree it sits better on the album. Its rather frustrating, this album is really good, if people would just give it a listen.

Well, Lost in You is certainly far superior to Shayne Ward's effort! :D I quite like it, it sounds like a Kelly Clarkson song - do you know who wrote it?

 

TBH, it's Gareth's voice that spoils it for me - I've just never liked the sound of his voice - sorry- I know lots of people do, but it's just not for me.

 

I do hope things pick up for him though - he does deserve a listen.

Much,much better than his last two singles!! BUT...... I'm afraid I have to agree with Fatmuffin about Gareths's voice - it's not very powerful and he sounds to me like he is straining to sing this!

However, with a good video, I think this song will do very well for him! :)

I think quite a lot of fans would agree with you. Maybe not that the song is terrible, but that it was a terrible choice for a lead single given the choice of much more commercial and radio friendly music on the album.

This is the song that most fans want to see as a single, and it offers good contrast with what was released so far. I thought AOMS was worlds apart from Changes musically, but for some it was 'another ballad', so as Suedehead2 suggests, it wasn't given a fair hearing.

 

"Lost in You" was written by Gareth, G Clark, and P Gordeno, and mixed by George Tandero. Gareth said that it was one of the first songs written for the album, but also the last one they finished, because they couldn't get it to sound right. He said there were five or six versions before they got to this one. I'm glad they persevered.

Gareth's going to be doing an interview and an accoustic set on Radio after 8 this evening. Its on several radio stations, this one included.

If anyone would like to hear Gareth's version of `Heaven' on the Radio last Tuesday. I think it was done back when he had his bad throat, because he could hardly speak in the interview at times :wub:
