Posted May 19, 200718 yr Robbie & Guy Back For Good May 19, 2007 ROBBIE WILLIAMS and GUY CHAMBERS are putting their rows aside to work together again. I’m delighted to reveal the dynamic song writing duo will return to the studio to record their next masterpiece later this year. A source close to the former TAKE THAT star says a string of top producers will work with the pair — who together penned Angels, voted Best British Song of the past 25 years at the Brits. The source said: “Rob’s going back into the studio with Guy later in the year. They have been talking on the phone a lot and they are excited by it all. “They were such good friends and together they were a dynamic partnership. “Rob’s also going to be working with MARK RONSON, WILLIAM ORBIT and SOUL MEKANIK on some songs. He is writing now and will hopefully have an album to release next year. “He’s taking the rest of this year off from doing any public appearances but he is buzzing with ideas.” Back in April 2005 I reported how the pair were talking again after a three-year feud. They fell out after Rob signed a £30million deal with EMI. Guy asked for more cash but the singer was so angered by the request that he ended the partnership. Guy later said: “The money had become so important to him. Our parting was very acrimonious.” A public slanging match followed, with Robbie laying into Guy in his official biography Feel. The pair began building bridges after Guy admitted Robbie’s decision to move to the US also played a major part in their split. He said: “If I’d also moved out there we may have continued working together.” I’m glad the lads are pals again — I bet they’ve missed each other. All together now . . . http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,4-2007230156,00.html
May 19, 200718 yr Jesus :yahoo: . But do we trust her and her "sources". Would love to see it but want him to continue to write with others too.
May 19, 200718 yr Vicky, this better be true, I just got all excited  I'd like an album where Rob works with Guy again, but with other people too, could be quite interesting
May 19, 200718 yr Author Robbie Williams And Guy Chambers Reunite Robbie Williams and Guy Chambers have finally agreed to write songs together again. Chambers will hope to revive Robbie’s flagging career when the pair go into the studio again later this year along with a string of celebrated producers. A source tells The Sun, “Rob’s going back into the studio with Guy later in the year. “He’s taking the rest of this year off from doing any public appearances but he is buzzing with ideas.” Chambers helped make Robbie the biggest pop act in Britain – penning such hits as ‘Angels’ with him - but the pair spectacularly fell out when Williams signed a new £80 million deal with EMI in 2002. http://www.entertainmentwise.com/news?id=31888
May 19, 200718 yr Well now this is very interesting - if true of course. I mean this is the Sun we are talking about. Also, that other article would've probebly just got their info from the Sun's original article. There willl be hundreds of other articles written about this now. -_- Personally, I would be against a whole album together with Guy again as he is too controlling, and Rob has grown so much as an artist, It just would not look good at all for Rob and would probebly end in another fight. Also, I did feel their releationshop had gone a bit stale towards the end with Escapology. However, I have always said I would love him to do an album with Guy, Stephen and others as well. It would just be amazing. I do think he needs to perhaps comeback with a big anthem like Feel or Angels, but not a whole album of that, I would like him to work with a host of different people like the source implies. Also Boots' who co-wrote Get a little high, Come Undone etc would be great. I somehow doubt Rob would let Guy be too controlling this time around though, he has grown so much as a musician and a producer, not to mention lyrically, there is no way he would just go back to the way things used to be. I think and hope Guy would know that, and he has also worked with loads of other people since the split, so I do think it would be very different this time around and also very interesting. I am very glad to hear that source (who is hopefully reliable) say he will be taking the rest of the year off from public apperences etc, it's what he needs imo. If he spends the rest of 2007 just constantly writing great music with all sorts of people and on his own as well, then I can only imagine how great the next album will be. :D But this does beg the question, what about Swing? That is meant to be the last album with EMI. I would imagine if this is true that EMI will want to release this upcoming studio album instead of Swing, perhaps they could change the contract? :confusedsmiley: Personally, I hope the Swing album is scrapped. It's just pointless, especially now. He does not need to be relaseing a load of cover songs that we're good enough to make the final of SWYW. Sorry, but I think he should forget about it and just concentrate on this new album. ^_^

May 19, 200718 yr Yes, it is hard to know, and I agree it will be a long wait, but I am positive it will be more than worth it when he returns and blows everyone away again. And anyway, this will be the first year in his whole career when he has'nt released an album, so we are very lucky. Most acts take 3 years at least off after each album and tour. ^_^
May 19, 200718 yr I can't say I'm all too excited about this. As the article makes it out, Guy would just be writing with Rob and produced by someone else. I somehow can never see Guy just writing a song and not producing it. Plus that list of producers supposedly working on this album are the same that worked on Rudebox, don't know if I can see Rob working with all the same producers on the next one. Aside from Feel, all the other songs on Escapology that Guy and Rob worked on fell A LOT short, I thought. Guy was too domineering and controlling and while that worked in the early days, it started to have the opposite effect as was so obvious with Escapology. Guy tried to hold Rob back because, as I see it, he was threatened by Rob's new found confidence which was very evident during the recording of Escapology. Now unless Guy changed completely since then I can't see it gelling all that much. Maybe for a song or two but even that, on the whole, I wouldn't want Rob to go and revisit that. Guy was very stifling for Rob creatively, trying to keep him in that 'box'. Since the split Rob has not only grown personally and become more confident, he's grown leaps professionally/creatively as well and become more confident as a songwriter - thank god for Stephen Duffy - I would not want him to compromise that or lose that edge, just to appeal to some segment of the fanbase. In all honesty, I'd much rather Rob work with Guy on the swing album than his own.
May 19, 200718 yr The past is done It's gone forever.... Robbies words :teresa: I like what he has done without Guy....I think he should move on
May 19, 200718 yr I'd like to see him work again with Guy. ^_^ And I agree about Swing album, that there's no point covering again many Swing songs. I also think comeback with something like great old anthems would be amazing. Just, I'm not sure that now is everything ok with Robbie and Guy. But, if it is, I say why not. :D I can just imagine how great that album will be! :w00t: :yahoo: So, if things are like this, we will wait till 2008 for new album?

Rob did say in Iowa that the next album will be Swing and there would be a gig, so I really don't know. Perhaos Swing this Xmas and the new album next year? I would personally perfer Swing to be scrapped altogether. -_-
May 20, 200718 yr Assuming this bit of 'news' is even true, it did only focus on the next album, meaning an RW original, so the swing album may still be coming out. It will probably be released around October the way all his albums are. By the way Rob spoke about the swing album last year I'd think he already had it done. I think I remember him saying he enjoyed making it. Plus, if its in the contract I don't think he can scrap it unless EMI agreed and considering it would be a huge cash cow for them I don't see them doing that.
May 20, 200718 yr Yes, quite a few people have mentioned him saying in some interview that the Swing album was donen and dusted. I have never seen the interview? Do you know where it was from and if I can see/hear it? I sincerly hope he has'nt just recorded a load of songs that did'nt make the final cut on SWYW.
May 20, 200718 yr Scotty I am sure that I heard him mention that it was completed........99% or else I misunderstood what he said & I dont' think so. As far as I can remember it was a radio interview last year & I am trying to think of the ones that he did.... I have a strong feeling that it during the one he did with a radio station in Sydney from his home in LA... the interview for that was quite long.. three parts to it if I remember correctly....talked for ages to & girl & guy. He also did interviews with Chris Evans & also a guy in Manchester called 9 Toolin ) I think...soo it may have been during one of those.... Have a root around in the Archives for the radio stations & you might find it... I have looked on my PC & no luck so far. I thought that he said that the Swing was already done in Studio....so who knows.....
May 20, 200718 yr Not sure about the radio interview but I think he said on that Viva uncut interview or whatever it was called. The one where he wore that black track top and looked all sleepy lol. I can swear I remember him saying it was done and that he enjoyed doing it. I do wonder when he found the time to record it as he was on tour much of that year but I suppose he could have done it before the tour started.
