May 20, 200718 yr It won't work Tessa. Says it's no longer available. :( What was Viva btw RF4L? Scotty Sorry that its no longer working... but I am pretty sure that he said it was done...... I know he was not working on in late last year because if you read the Big Issue interview in the RW site the guys from Stoke were working on some other stuff then ( defo not 'Swing as Its' not their Thing ....rhymes well dont' you think )...anyway he was working then on some other new stuff & the interviewer said that he was next going to Australia...so given the timing etc.....I have the feeling its done......I do remember him saying in the same interview that he was relasing two albums this year so with time constraints the swing has more than likely been done. The only thing now is that they may hold off now until next year before they release anything as most artists at some stage take a break because of the danger of over exposure ... It happens all the time & its' all part of the tactics...comes with the business. Rob is a shrewd business man & will think about it carefully before he does anything......Im' sure when he feels the timing is right it will be full steam ahead.... I think a lot depends with most artists on what others are releasing around the same time... a lot of it is timing & a bit of luck. The more I think about it the more I am sure of what I heard...... If Im' wrong I will hold my hands up.......I may be proved totally wrong....Ok... BTW... Saw an article in the Observer today about Dolores O'Riordan & how her return is not running so smoothly & how hard it is nowadays... interesting article really. My comment on this is nothing to do with Rob so I dont want anyone jumping on my back saying that I am making any comparisons.....I only mention it to you Scotty because of the Dolores / Irish connection really.
May 20, 200718 yr It won't work Tessa. Says it's no longer available. :( What was Viva btw RF4L? Yeah Scotty it was the Viva interview from last year. I think it was German if I remember correctly. I'm trying to find it on my computer. I'll upload it for you when I do. **edit** oh hell, I can't find it on my computer. I can swear I had it, but I can't find it now. What I remember clear as day from that viva interview was that he said there was lots coming out next year (2007), too much ;) ... whatever that means and who knows it might have been scrapped and rearranged by now. May 25, 200718 yr IT'S OFFICIAL. :o :o :o :o Gary's Blog Blog date: 25th May 2007 Hello viewers, Sorry it's taken me a while to update my bloggy thingy, but you know how it is. This year seems to be flying by. I've just been in the studio with Guy Chambers working on a track for Rob which has been really great. :o :o My CD which should have been ready ages ago will be released in early June. it has 11 tracks of varying styles on it, a couple of which are not on the download list anyway i hope you are all fine and well and please keep tuning in. lot's of love Gary http://www.garynuttall.com/blog.asp
May 25, 200718 yr OMG - I am really shocked at this. :o I thought that if they were going to work together, that it would be at the end of the year, never expected them to be doing it NOW. :o I am very happy that it is official and no longer a rumour, and it pretty much guarentees a classic pop anthem. But I hope it's only a few tracks. I hope they write a load of songs together, and the best make the album. I am just so exciting about the new album now. I hope it is full of endless different styles of music yet again
May 25, 200718 yr It looks like they could be writing for Kylie. :o From the Holymoly news letter, thanks to purerobbie. Chambers Music You’ll have read in our exclusive in last week’s mailout (and a day later in The Sun) that the winning writing team of Robbie Williams and Guy Chambers have finally put aside their differences and are writing songs again. What hasn’t been reported elsewhere yet, and is another HM exclusive, is that the duo is writing for Brave Kylie. Which is pretty impressive, until you realize that every other songwriting team out there (Chungking, Cathy Dennis, Hot Chip, Bloodshy, Calvin Harris, Scissor Sisters, Mylo, Groove Armada, Karen Poole, Hannah Robinson, and all the bloody rest) have also been called upon to come up with some hummable tunes for the diminutive cancer battler.
May 25, 200718 yr Author geez this just gets more exciting every minute,...but no doubt some of it will be a lie :(
May 25, 200718 yr      It doesn't say Robbie and Guy have been in the studio together though....
May 25, 200718 yr I know, but I am sure they have. Why else would Gary be working on tracks for Rob himself. I imagine, they were doing the finishing touches on a track. Rob probebly finds all that too long a process, as it's probebly boring. I doubt Guy would be just producing a song though, he was always more of a writer with Steve Power producing. I think Gary may have been told to post that to end rumours tbh. Anyway, it's great to know so much is being done so we have alot of great tracks to look forward to. ^_^
May 25, 200718 yr I agree with you Scotty, Gary obviously posted that bit up deliberately to stop the rumours and good that he did but he's raised some questions I think, well with me anyways. Its a track for Rob but he didn't say that its Rob's track for his album - the Kylie rumour could be more likely - and we don't know if Rob actually wrote the song with Guy. The way Gary put it, is very vague and open to interpretation I think. Honestly I don't know what to think. I'm not excited I can say that with certainty but it'd be interesting to hear what they come up with now. I hope its only one or two tracks first and foremost and I hope its not some schmaltzy ballad just to get the housewives and Angels brigade off his back
May 25, 200718 yr I agree. If it's some sort of Something Beautiful effort I'll be tempted to put my head in the oven.

May 25, 200718 yr Very interesting news. I would draw a comparison between Robbie & Guy Chambers songwriting partnership with that of Elton John & Bernie Taupin. Elton John & Bernie Taupin wrote together for seven years 1969-1976 when their relationship fell apart acrimoniously due to Elton (who had just signed a new World Record deal, refusing to give in to an increased demand for royalties from Bernie) living in England & Bernie moving to LA, after releasing the Blue Moves album in 1976 which received poor reviews (with the exception of the fantastic lead single "Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest World") and ended a spectacular run of #1 albums (7 studio & 1 greatest hits) on either side of the Atlantic. They then spent 7 years apart where Elton's career spectacularly nosedived (In this period he failed to have a USA Top10 album or a UK Top5 album). Until they reunited for Elton's return to form with 1983's Too Low For Zero Album which featured the fantastic Transatlantic Top5 Hit singles "I Guess That's Why They Call It The Blues" & "I'm Still Standing". Clearly Robbie's career has not had the decline that Elton John had, although I found his material with Stephen Duffy rather dull in comparison to his songs written with Guy Chambers. While I adored Rudebox but the Record buying public (certainly in the UK) did not appreciate it's brilliance. Since Robbie & Guy split he has co-written tracks with Melanie C, Beverley Knight, Ross Copperman, INXS, Stefy, Delta Goodrem, Bo Pepper & Laura Michelle Kelly. Apart from Mel C's wonderful power-ballad "First Day Of My Life" which sold over 900,000 copies & topped the charts of six European countries & INXS USA Top20 hit "Afterglow" he has written little to compare with the classics he wrote with Robbie. So I think it is common sense to see if Robbie & Guy can restore the magic that they had together previously.

Guy said that it really annoyed him when people wrote otherwise..... The guys in Rob's band normally never mention anything to do with Rob outside of working with him at gigs & even Josie always makes sure that Rob does not give anything away during his interviews...so it looks like things are happening the fact that this is appearing on Gary's site. I would like to see them do a couple of songs on an album together ...not a whole album though..... Maybe they will do another track for the Swing album like last time. Poor Guy must have really missed Rob....after all Guy did say that when he met Rob is was like meeting his wife all over again ( bit strong in my opinion ) & that the two of them really needed each other..  .....made me go real weak at the knees that remark...... ;) Aaaaaw..... <_< Edited May 25, 200718 yr by TessaT
May 25, 200718 yr I have to say that Robbie and Guy's history is very much like Elton John's and Bernie Taupins. Sometimes a successful partnership is because they were meant to be..so I am looking forward to that "schmaltzy ballad just to get the housewives and Angels brigade off his back" Without that song, this housewife would not be a Robbie fan. :yahoo: Edited May 25, 200718 yr by Susie

So I think it is common sense to see if Robbie & Guy can restore the magic that they had together previously. Great post TIP & I agree fullly. It is a great comparison to Elton and Bernie and when you put it like that, it makes me more postive about things. Rob and Guy were an amazing team, there is no doubting it. They wrote some of the finest pop songs of the 90's and 00's and I have no doubt they will continue to do so. LTAL, IBEY and SWYW are three of my favourite albums ever, they are just brilliant, start to finish. But I felt with Escapology, with the exception of Feel and Come Undone (which was obviously written without Guy), there was nothing amazing. there were some very good songs like Monsoon and Revolution, but nothing compared to previous classics, so for that reason I think a whole album would'nt be a good idea. A few tracks would be great though. I would love an album will every single song being completelly different. He could try and make an album where every song is a different gere of music B) One thing I am not looking forward to is the predictable UK press (well the Mirror anyway) that will no doubt harp on that he needs Guy and if they do have another #1 or whatever, Rob won't get the credit he deserves. Alot of people seem to think Guy is some sort of a magician I think  He is a great musician but clearly was'nt just the man behind the hits, Rob and him were brilliant together, and I have a good feeling this time they will be even better, ^_^ With all the endless and completelly unneccasary negetivty Rob has recieved with Rudebox in the past 12 months, I would just love him to come back next year and be on top once again just shut all those idiotic journalists up. :w00t:

I thought Guy was an arse hole at the time of Escapology and the split though with some of the things he did, but yes, they always seemed to be really good friends as well, so for that I am very pleased they have sorted things out. Perhaps it is for Swing and Kylie and Rob will do a new duet? :w00t:

I do hope that they were able to put the past behind them & that at least they are able to be friends again. VN in the Sun must be lined up for an interview seeing as that she has been printing good things lately & seems to have some inside info...so she must be on a promise... I will bet though that The Mirror will have a field day as they have their knives sharpened for some time....they obviously have been told to F**K off by the Rob team & rightly so.

It may be silly, but at the moment I don't care what song it will be written by whom and even if I don't like it myself, I want it to be hugely successful with the general public just to shut up the critics. I think we all know they wouldn't dare write about him like they have if he had continued to have no.1 hits and an album that sells millions. <_< They've had their rough patches yeah, but overall Rob & Guy were such a terrific team and I'm sure a lot of love is still there on both sides so I'm just happy that they're doing something together again, to me that is positive.
