Posted May 23, 200718 yr Rihanna maintaining pole position 22 May 2007 - 11:06:49 Source: Music Week Rihanna’s Umbrella single (Mercury) looks set to stay atop the singles chart, keeping Maroon 5’s Makes Me Wonder (A&M/Octone) stuck at number two. Having sold double the units already, Umbrella is currently enjoying strong airplay support across the board. There may be little movement in the singles Top five overall this week, as Hellogoodbye’s Here In Your Arms (Drive-Thru), Beyonce & Shakira’s Beautiful Liar (Columbia) and Snow Patrol’s Signal Fire (Fiction) are all likely to hold fast. Scooch’s Eurovision entry Flying The Flag (Warners) is spiralling downwards though. After a brief spell in the Top 10 it is currently sitting at 21. The hotly-tipped Booty Luv is enjoying steady sales, with new single Shine (Hed Kandi) still at number 10. Ex-Sugababe Mutya Bueno is edging up the singles chart too, after Real Girl (Fourth & Broadway) debuted at number 11 last week. This week she is set to be well within the Top 10. Following huge demand for Linkin Park’s new album last week, Maroon 5 looks likely to storm the chart with It Won’t Be Soon Before Long (A&M/Octone). The album has sold 11,000 more copies than Linkin Park’s Minutes To Midnight (Warners) already this week. Mika, with Life In Cartoon Motion (Casablanca/Island), and Amy Winehouse’s Back To Black are still holding strong in the Top 10, having been in the album chart for 15 weeks and 29 weeks respectively. Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s Trip The Light Fantastic (Fascination) looks likely to be a new entry into the Top 10 albums, currently sitting at number seven. ====================================================== Singles 01 Rihanna feat. May 24, 200718 yr Author Now... not sure if Asda pulling their singles stock off have had some effect on the singles chart, but Rihanna looks well ahead
May 24, 200718 yr I am so pleased Sophie is actually holding up through the week. I can't see The Cribs or that old zombie crooner Ozzy Osbourne taking her somehow. :D
May 24, 200718 yr well she is still 7, but it is close to 5, and well those extra purchases will make it top 5, i think it deserves top 5, it is very good, but to get well in the top 10 for a pop album is great, and with her touring in september it will help it.
