I know that iTunes is the most popular place to download music from, but how popular is it really? How much of an impact do other download places have on the download chart?

 

Also, how much does iTunes contribute to the album chart?

85% of downloads of singles come from itunes. Much, much less for albums - not sure how many but id guess around 5-10%.

Of the download market Itunes is only about 38-40%, I think in the USA it's more like 80% though

 

Not sure about albums but digital albums aren't as in demand

I don't think I'd ever pay to download an album, I always buy the physical
