Mclafan was lucky enough to talk to the director of Hollywood, CA Chamber of Commerce and he told her that Tim McGraw has already received his star this year and that Mariah Carey and Leann Rimes will NOT receive theirs in 2007. Apparently, Mariah and LeAnn Rimes most likely will be recognized in 2008.

 

Any official information about this issue has not been released yet but Mariah is busy working on her new album. Perhaps getting the Star in Hollywood Walk of Fame next year makes more sense as her upcoming album will be out then, which means more promotion.

I think the record label or artist has to agree to pay a fee or something ever year for the upkeep. Mariah is sooo busy this year, I can see why she's waiting until next year! I can't see an album until next year either -_-

Exactly - she's the highest selling female of all-time but has no star, however Christina (who I adore mind you) has sold probably about a quarter of what Mariah has - DOES have a star. :|

That's sad news..I would have thought she would have one by now with all those #1 hits.

Well Mariah has been in the industry for 17 years now, had 17 #1's, is the biggest selling female of all time, had a great comeback and still no star. :( I hold out no hope I tell you NO HOPE. -_-
