April 25, 200619 yr 25 April 2006 ROBBIE WILL JOIN TT TOUR The Mirror Kiki King, Eva Simpson & Caroline Hedley THEY relit our fire after the brilliant first night of their tour and it looks like Robbie Williams - who "joins" Take That onstage in the form of a 10ft hologram - will be getting in on the action for real. "I'm fully expecting him to do more than one show," an ecstatic Gary Barlow, 35, told us backstage at the Newcastle Arena. "But I'm the only one of the band who doesn't speak to him so, where or when, I don't know." Confirming our scoop that the band may be Back For Good, he added: "We're writing songs and I'm hoping the new album will be out for Christmas. "Things are going so well that we're also looking at doing some European dates next year." Meanwhile Jason Orange, 35, was "shell-shocked" by the fans' reaction. I've been out of the pop world for a decade, so I called Robbie for the first time in 10 years to get some advice. It was awkward at first, then I realised I really missed him. "If one good thing comes out of this reunion it's that we're back in touch." http://www.purerobbie.com/photoplog/images/1/medium/1_classic8.jpg Virtual Robbie thrills Take That fans South Africa news. London - Thanks to the wonders of modern technology, British pop heartthrob Robbie Williams has rejoined - virtually - the 1990s boy band that made him famous. Take That projected a six-metre hologram of Williams, who quit the combo in 1995, for a version of their hit Could It Be Magic at its sell-out comeback concert in Newcastle, north-east England, on Sunday night. Williams was seen with his hands in his pockets, wearing ripped jeans and a camouflage jacket, for the intro of the tune, before the other band members took over the song and the hologram faded. Could It Be Magic was part of an 18-song concert that featured eight costume changes, huge light shows and a breakaway circular stage which was lowered into the middle of the audience half-way through the night. Formed in Manchester in 1990, Take That dominated the pop charts in the first half of the decade with its dance tunes and soulful ballads, before Williams struck out on his own, a year before the group's demise. Mark Owen, Jason Orange, Howard Donald and Gary Barlow announced in November last year that they would reunite, while Williams - who has been invited to join them anytime he likes - reportedly gave his blessing thanks to http://www.purerobbie.com/ for the gorgeous little picture.
April 25, 200619 yr Doea anyone know if TT sung Everything changes cause if Rob does join them as Barlow said then i would rekon he would sing that.
April 25, 200619 yr Author Haven't heard Scotty. You know, all this Robbie re-joining TT on stage confuses me. Gary Barlow said in the Sun today that he himself doesn't know what gig(s) Rob will appear at because ' I'm the only one he refuses to talk to. But he's maybe told the others'. Isn't it going to be a bit awkward on stage? Gary at one end, Robbie at the other. Each fighting for lead vocals....
April 25, 200619 yr Yes he even said that they want Robbie to record a new album with them. Rob and Gary writing a song together. I would pay to see that
April 25, 200619 yr Yes he even said that they want Robbie to record a new album with them. Rob and Gary writing a song together. I would pay to see that  Easy, they could write & demo a new song without even speaking to each other or seeing each other via the internet - sending each other music files/lyrics etc.
April 25, 200619 yr I suppose you are right but i don't see it happening. And anyway i don't want Rob to do an album with TT. It would be taking a step backwards imo. I would'nt mind one or two concert apperences though.
April 25, 200619 yr Personally, I can see him guesting on a couple of tracks and that is it. Anyway for your info here is the Take That setlist (according to the Daily Mirror) Once You've Tasted Love Pray Today I've Lost You - (new track) Why Can't I Wake Up With You It Only Takes A Minute Babe Everything Changes Million Love Songs Beatles medley How Deep Is Your Love Love Ain't Here Anymore Sure Relight My Fire (with Beverley Knight) Back For Good Could It Be Magic - with Robbie Williams Never Forget
April 25, 200619 yr Thanks for that setlist thisispop. Strange how they opened with Once You've Tasted Love. I honestly forget what it sounded like.
April 25, 200619 yr So much speculation about 'will he or won't he and where and when' isn't there. :) and of course brilliant as the 4 TT members are and their show being brilliant without Rob, they also know that to keep mentioning this will keep the interest going long after the opening night. :) Oh well they all play the game.
April 26, 200619 yr One of two apperences would by fine but i don't think it's a good idea for an album. Robbie is bigger than TT were ever and he has moved on. TT should do the same and stop metioning himevery five minutes.
May 1, 200619 yr Author Take That played Glasgow last night. Here is a review from the Daily Record. 1 May 2006 WE WANT YOU BACK FOR GOOD Beverley Lyons THE last time Take That played Glasgow was 12 years ago, but last night it seemed like they never really went away. And while their fans are no longer in pig-tails, their screams were just as loud as they were back then. Like a giant hen party, the 10,000-strong female audience cheered on their idols through every dance step, note and cheeky grin. Jason Orange, Howard Donald, Gary Barlow and Mark Owen more than managed to keep up the pace as they belted out their 1990s hits, as well as a few new numbers. The boys, in frilly shirts and velveteen coats, opened with their early hit Once You've Tasted Love. With Pray, the heart-throbs showed they could still move - albeit to dated dance routines. After showcasing new song Today I've Lost You, the boys, sorry men, continued with old favourite Why Can't I Wake Up With You. There was a sultry, slowed-down version of It Only Takes A Minute Girl, with a tango dance routine. The crowd lapped up Babe and Everything Changes. And when the boys sang A Million Love Songs, we were smitten all over again.

May 1, 200619 yr Author Review from the Glasgow Evening Times- Take That relight fire for fans THE faithful fans were almost in a frenzy before Take That even came on stage at the SECC last night - and it was soon clear the boys are back for good. It might be 12 years since Britain's ultimate boyband played live in Scotland but the mostly 20- and 30-something audience had not forgotten how to do hysteria, complete with Mexican waves and foot stomping. Their verdict - "brilliant". Manchester's fantastic five turned fab four burst onto the stage for an unforgettable two-hour reunion gig of blazing fires, cascading water and jaw-dropping entertainment. Starting with the low-key Once You've Tasted Love, the elaborate and imaginative staging heightened with each hit. Pray, Why Can't I Wake Up With You, Million Love Songs and Babe sounded fresh, there was a Moulin Rouge-meets-tango twist on It Only Takes A Minute Girl and 10,000 voices helped make up for the lack of Robbie on Everything Changes. And the Glasgow audience got closer than ever to Take That when a massive walkway was lowered from the ceiling and the sharp-suited Howard, Mark, Jason and Gary hot-footed it to raised stage at the rear of the auditorium. After a medley of Beatles tracks they walked back to the main stage through the crowd. A tongue-in-cheek section on the boyband 10 commandments allowed Mark, Jason and Howard to showcase their breakdancing and a breath-taking version of Relight My Fire seemed to set the stage ablaze with pyrotechnics. After the fire came the flood - water jets in the lighting rig rained down onto the stage for Back For Good. A 20ft-high projection of Robbie singing the intro to Could It Be Magic was topped by the band completing the Barry Manilow hit while sloshing around in about six inches of water. The euphoric finale of Never Forget brought the curtain down on a truly awesome spectacle. Fan Julie Gray, 25, from East Kilbride said: "I got to ruffle Mark Owen's hair when he walked through the crowd - I'm not washing my hand!" Hazel Calder, 52, and daughter Caroline Morgan, 30, travelled from Aberdeen to see the gig. Hazel said: "It was brilliant - absolutely fantastic." May 1, 200619 yr I never paid much attention to TT at the time, but i did buy the DVD Take That Never Forget and it's great. Really like the live performances and the clip Everything changes but you
May 1, 200619 yr I was like you Nicole, I only found out about TT after finding Robbie as a solo star. They are a great group. I bought the DVD of the documentary last Saturday, mainly for the extras, I am glad I did, because Robbie's telling of the time he wanted to get a girl into his room and Mark was in the wardrobe was so funny, and NMS said No..
May 2, 200619 yr Susie, i forgot about the documentary DVD. I'll make sure to buy that one too..........or maybe someone gives it to me for my birthday...........No pressure at all WH75!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
May 4, 200619 yr Author Oh dear. Tony from East 17 doesn't think much of the TT Reunion :o Source- http://thesun.co.uk From the lovely Victoria's Bizarre Page- IT may have been ten years ago but the bitter rivalry between the re-formed boy bands EAST 17 and TAKE THAT is still going strong. East 17’s TONY MORTIMER has unleashed a vicious attack on GARY BARLOW’s mob. It’s one of the funniest showbiz put-downs I can remember. Tony, who wrote the Walthamstow band’s hits, said: “They are just a trumped-up VILLAGE PEOPLE tribute band. They covered BARRY MANILOW And referring to former Take That star ROBBIE WILLIAMS, he said: “Would there be that much interest in Take That if they hadn’t played the Robbie card?†He is hardly in a position to criticise. While Take That are playing to sold-out arenas up and down the country, East 17’s comeback is barely limping along. Tony has clearly been visited by the green-eyed monster. His band  BRIAN HARVEY, TERRY COLDWELL and JOHN HENDY  have only just managed to sell out a one-night comeback gig at London’s Shepherds Bush Empire on May 30. Meanwhile, Take That tickets sold out 12 arena tour dates in just 30 minutes. That’s more than 250,000 tickets. There was always a bit of friction between the two groups. Take That were the squeaky-clean, camp icons and East 17 were the more streetwise rebels. But Tony insists his mob were just as big as their rivals. He said: “We sold more albums than them worldwide.†Speaking about E17’s one-off show, he added: “There will be no dog, no pyrotechnics. Just a little facial hair.†Take That kicked off their tour in Newcastle with a special-effects spectacle. I have to admit to a bit of sympathy for Tony. Take That are as camp as a row of tents. My artists have made Tony’s day, our mock ups show how Take That would look like as the Village People. The sight of JASON ORANGE as a Red Indian works for me. Now I guess it’s over to you, Gary . . . :P :P :P :P :P Did East 17 really sell more albums than TT? I am surprised at that! Edited May 4, 200619 yr by jupiter9
May 4, 200619 yr I have Scotty, now thats saying something as I wasn't into boy bands really. :D I think East 17 are playing the Take That card a bit too. Although I think that TT have played the RW card as well. A friend of mine went to see them and she told me that there is a 5th mike always placed at the side of the stage, in full view..its very clever play. The will he or won't he card..maybe one day it will be used. :)
