Rihanna looks set to stay atop the singles chart for the third week running, with Umbrella featuring Jay-Z (Def Jam).

It has already sold 10,000 more copies than Beyonce and Shakira’s Beautiful Liar (Columbia), which despite nine weeks in the chart is currently sitting at number two.

But it looks like there will be very little difference in sales this week for all other top five entries, with Mutya Buena’s Real Girl (Fourth & Broadway), Maroon 5’s Makes Me Wonder (A&M/Octone) and Hellogoodbye’s Here (In Your Arms) (Drive Thru) all likely to shift a similar amount of units, making for a close contest.

New entries are sparse on the ground this week, with the only releases likely to make much of an impact in the Singles Top 75 coming from Simply Red with Stay (Simplyred.com), on for the Top 20, and Marilyn Manson’s Heart-shaped Glass (Interscope), which may make the Top 30.

In the albums chart, indie-poppers Maroon 5 look set to hold the top spot for a second week running with It Won’t Be Soon Before Long (A&M/Octone). Linkin Park’s Minutes To Midnight (Warners) is second.

The highest new entry, currently sitting at number three, comes from newcomers the Pigeon Detectives with Wait For Me (DTTR). Their debut has sold only 14 fewer units than Linkin Park so far.

More new entries into the Top 20 are likely to come from Chris Cornell with Carry On (Interscope) and R Kelly’s Double Up (Jive).

Meanwhile Amy Winehouse, with Back To Black (Island), and Mika’s Life In Cartoon Motion (Casablanca/Island) are still holding steady in the Top 10 with consistent sales.

Hope Mutya can keep number 2  But her sales look really low  Is 7.6k unusually low for a number 2 by Weds?

That's what I thought, that's disastrously low I'm sure

Yes its slightly low than usual

Perhaps people only buy one song a week now lol! And this week the song of choice is Rihanna

That is low for Mutya. I thought it would manage around 25k this week.

:puke2: at R Kelly top 10 in albums.

:puke2: at R Kelly top 10 in albums.

Hey that is not very nice!!

Edited by anxresi

Well if Rihanna was 10k ahead of B+S on Tuesday she must be the only song selling this week for gods sake!

She must have sold about 12,000 on Wednesday and Mutya can only make it to 7k?
