This episode was the first one i've watched since the awful dalek ones of this series, and for saying i missed the previouse episode and the first 10 minutes of this one i was pleasantly suprised by a great performance from Tennant and the woman from extras.

There was a woman from Extras in it?

Seriously?

I thought they worked even better than ever, together, last night. She's not Rose, and wont ever be, but shes a different character, and as such shes brilliant  Together they are perfect.

She's just not that good tbh, and they just don't work together... Sorry, but I just cant take to her, at all... Jessica Stevenson just really showed up all of Freema's shortcomings as far as I'm concerned. Yeah, she upped her game a bit, because otherwise she'd've been completely acted off the screen by Stevenson, but it still wasn't really enough IMO. Tennant finally showed his real acting colours when he actually had someone of quality to work off of.... Seems to me he's a bit like George Clooney, give him something to work with, and he's great, just give him any old sh!te and he cant be arsed and bluffs his way through..... The last two episodes Tenant finally had - 1. A very good script and 2. A co-star who's actually on his level in terms of acting capabilities....

Again, agree to disagree B) I loved them all. :D

I seem to have spent most of today justifying why "modern life is rubbish" but I'm delighted to say:

For ONCE, it's lived up to the hype. One of the best individual episodes of British TV drama produced ever.

Everything it about was just perfect.

11/10

That's a bit OTT mate, Sure it was good, but it wasn't as good as the utterly superb "The Empty Child" two parter in series one... I doubt we'll ever see anything of that quality ever again in Dr Who, everything about that story was perfect.... And dont tell me that the sight of the kid in the gas-mask continually saying "Are You My Mummy?" didn't send utter shivers down your spine.... Really eerie, atmospheric and wonderfully scripted stuff.... Genuinely emotional too when it got to the end, last night's ending felt a bit forced tbh.....

Jessica Stevenson''

I believe she is now Mrs Jessica Hynes!

As for the episode, absolutely wonderful TV gold ... can't wait to see it again!!

I reckon she'll likely keep "Stevenson" as her professional name....

But she was great in the two-parter.... Everything that is lacking in Freema Agyeman really... It's finally occurred to me why I dont really like David Tenant.... It's not really him as such, it's just the fact that he's not being given much to work off of and that he can't be arsed.... I think given a truly excellent co-star AND a good script, he can really shine, and the last two episodes (as well as the Madame De Pompadeur episode in series 2) he has shown his real quality, the sort of quality he showed in that compelling one-off drama he was in recently.... Oh, David, you can act....PLEASE for god's sake, do it MORE OFTEN.......

I reckon she'll likely keep "Stevenson" as her professional name....

She hasnt :(

...and Freema Agyeman makes me miss Billie Piper not one little bit.

Freema is a really talented actress and makes Billie Piper seem like an immature little girl.

For talent:

Billie Piper - 7/10

Freema Agyeman - 12/10

Not even in a "double-barrelled" sense....? Jessica Stevenson-Hynes....??

Apparently not :o I just re-watched it (yes, I am cool.) and she's credited just as Hynes :o

Seems strange to me, she's known as Stevenson, she must really like the dude

a great episode, i wanted to cry at the end!!!

great acting, the best episode of the series so far, and probably the best two parter over the three series.

and the scarecrows!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the ending was so dark, and it was really nice to see the doctor not kill the baddies but to still be so cruel.

9.5/10 (not the full 10 i know, but once ive watched it a couple of times it will be 10/10!!!!
