This four-piece rock/dance outfit from Oz have been churning out hits since their debut single in 2003 - a reworking of INXS "I Need You Tonight" called "One Of My Kind".

If you like the Bodyrockers with a bit of female angst then you will LOVE this!!!!

Such an awesome tune, hope it gets released officially. Should do really well.

Check out their site here

Voodoo Child represents a new sound for Rogue Traders. Once a conventional dance orientated act, they now have an energetic and raw sound that is a mixture of electronic glam pop and punky guitar rock. 'Voodoo Child' is a sexy, raucous club anthem that re-works Elvis Costello's classic riff from his track 'Pump It Up' and features the tantalising husky rock vocals from Neighbours star Natalie Bassingthwaighte. A sure fire hit, it is set to be one of the anthems of the year. - HMV

track listing

* 1. Voodoo Child [Radio Edit]

* 2. Voodoo Child [Fuzzy Hair Remix]

I've known this one for about a year now, it is brilliant!

This was a top 5 hit in Australia and they released 2 other singles to date from their album, electropop/rock tinged 'Way To Go' (my favourite and what a video  ) and other dance track 'Watching You' from the album 'Here Comes The Drums', which has so far peaked at #2 there. :o

The album is brilliant and full of strong and catchy material, and I think they'll be a success here as they're quite diverse and have a wide appeal.

Did you know that their vocalist is Natalie Bassingthwaite, who played Izzy in Neighbours? B)

Yay I have the RT album - it's really great! Love it, they're definately going to be a big hit when they reach the UK for sure. :cheer:
  • 2 weeks later...

I love how their album is got a lot of rock influences.

Appearance wise they kinda look a bit like No Doubt.

Voodoo CHild is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!!!!!!!!

I'm indifferent with this... I don't think it's got that "spark" to cross-over in a big way though, but on first listen, it's alright.
It was a massive hit in Australia, I believe the act themselves will be given a push as a big artist. I can see it being a massive hit here but I guess time will tell and how people react to it will make the difference.

I heard on PJ that it's been pushed back to July :( If R1 pick it up, it'll be MASSIVE

I ordered their album on Thursday :cheer:

well thank fcuk for that! i thought it might be a dancified cover of hendrix's 'voodoo chile' (voodoo child).

its a good track with a riff that sounds just like elvis costellos 'pump it up'..

this song is brilliant and their album is fantastic especially the tracks 'Watching You' & 'We're Coming Home'

It samples that song.

I know Voodoo Child will be massive, Im just concernd whether Way To Go! and Watching You are the sort of sound that will go down well here...either way I cant wait for the release of this.

I think Watching You could be a hit but not sure about Way To Go.

'Way To Go!' is my favourite, it's just so amazing. I also played the 3 singles to one of my friends yesterday and he said that was his favourite of the 3 also, so maybe people could like it. :D
