Posted June 12, 200718 yr A teenager obsessed by serial killers and pornography lived out his fantasies by stabbing a nurse more than 70 times, the Old Bailey has heard. Stuart Harling, 19, is accused of murdering 33-year-old Cheryl Moss near St George's Hospital in Hornchurch, Essex, in April last year. Mr Harling, of Rainham, Essex, denies murder on the grounds of diminished responsibility. He was led out of court for shouting obscenities at prosecution lawyers. Brian Altman, for the prosecution, dismissed his claims of diminished responsibility and urged the jury to convict Mr Harling of murder. He said the defendant was a "loner and fantasist" who spent much of his time playing computer games and surfing the internet to fuel his interest in serial killers, knives, racism and pornography. Wig and clothing "He was just a cold-blooded killer who acted out his fantasy," said Mr Altman. Ms Moss, of Dagenham, east London, was attacked in a frenzied and ferocious attack as she took a break from work. Mr Altman said: "He struck quickly. His actions had so suddenly and completely overwhelmed her that she had no time to flee and was unable to defend herself. "She had no time to even scream for help. He fled as quickly as he arrived." She was found in woods behind the hospital and despite attempts to save her by colleagues who ran to the scene, she was already dead. Death threat Jurors heard how a sports bag containing a long, dark, wavy wig, sunglasses, a sharp hunting knife and an envelope with Mr Harling's address on it was found on a riverbank nearby. Mr Altman said another hospital worker had seen a man loitering in the area apparently wearing the wig and clothing. Doctors for the defence diagnosed Mr Harling with Asperger's but rejected claims he was "subject to an abnormality of mind at the time of the killing", Mr Altman said. When the trial opened on Tuesday Mr Harling started shouting insults at Mr Altman as he outlined the case. At one point, the trainee accountant said: "I'm going to shoot you with a machine gun." He was led away from the dock when he refused to stop shouting. The trial continues. BBC NEWS In my view this is sick, someone so obsesses with "Serial Killers and Pornograohy" seriously has mental health issues, and for him to stab the poor woman 70 times, vile. I hope he rots in jail -_-
June 13, 200718 yr psycho bast*rd :coffee: there was a case just recently where some guy made the Freddy Krueger [a nightmare on elm street] glove and killed his friend
June 14, 200718 yr Don't blame the films, someone already has to be seriously mentally imbalanced to do what he did I have watched hundreds of movies where people get murdered many in extremely gruesome ways and I have never thought about killing someone
June 14, 200718 yr Exactly. People are all too quick to blame the video game, or film, or whatever is seen to have inspired these attacks, but you have to be mentally ill in the extreme to do this anyway.
June 14, 200718 yr Don't blame the films, someone already has to be seriously mentally imbalanced to do what he did I have watched hundreds of movies where people get murdered many in extremely gruesome ways and I have never thought about killing someone Completely agree. I love horror films but it doesn't mean i'm gonna go on a slashing rampage.
June 14, 200718 yr ........ but the point is that IF someone has a disposition towards violence films and games could trigger the lust. not everybody watching such films are level headed.
June 14, 200718 yr The horror film is just the thing that sends them over the edge. They already have to have something seriously wrong with them. I've said many times before; normal people don't watch a film then decide to kill someone.
June 14, 200718 yr Films have no influence over your awareness of what is right and wrong. Mentally fit people (even strange people or stupid people) all know the difference between right and wrong.
June 14, 200718 yr Don't blame the films, someone already has to be seriously mentally imbalanced to do what he did I have watched hundreds of movies where people get murdered many in extremely gruesome ways and I have never thought about killing someone yep, i agree.
June 14, 200718 yr Author ........ but the point is that IF someone has a disposition towards violence films and games could trigger the lust. not everybody watching such films are level headed. I agree, not everyone has the sanity to not go on a mad rampage and slaughter poor women, this guy clearly did. He clearly has issues with films and replicating them. Films and video games are the main cause in his anger.
