June 14, 200718 yr Sunderland have 5 tough opening games. It is something like Spurs (h), Birmingham (a), Wigan (a), Liverpool (h), Man Utd (a) would like to think we could get at least 7 or 8 points from that.
June 14, 200718 yr Author Sunderland have 5 tough opening games. It is something like Spurs (h), Birmingham (a), Wigan (a), Liverpool (h), Man Utd (a) would like to think we could get at least 7 or 8 points from that. Birmingham have got it worse I think. It's been proven that if you have a good start to the season as a newly promoted club - you'll survive the drop, so I think the first 6 games for the newly promoted clubs will be crucial. Derby have got the best set of fixtures to pick up points I reckon.
June 14, 200718 yr And again, at least 1 weekend in the season sees 2 games of the big 4 facing each other  But to the opening fixtures, if i was to make an early prediction it would go something like this. Arsenal v Fulham - Arsenal win Aston Villa v Liverpool - Draw Bolton v Newcastle - Draw Chelsea v Birmingham - Chelsea win Derby v Portsmouth - Derby win Everton v Wigan - Everton win Man Utd v Reading - Man Utd win Middlesbrough v Blackburn - Blackburn win Sunderland v Tottenham - Tottenham win West Ham v Man City - West Ham win
June 14, 200718 yr Tottenham? Ah well, we may not have the best record against them but it is a home game and it could have been a lot worse. And our opening games are quite tough, but i'm sure we'll get something out of them ^_^
June 14, 200718 yr Arsenal v Fulham (2-0) Aston Villa v Liverpool (0-1) Bolton v Newcastle (0-3) Chelsea v Birmingham (4-1) Derby v Portsmouth (0-2) Everton v Wigan (2-1) Man Utd v Reading (2-1) Middlesbrough v Blackburn (2-0) Sunderland v Tottenham (1-2) West Ham v Man City (3-1)
June 14, 200718 yr Eugh. I don't like Middlesbrough away. That's often the sort of game we struggle with. We have Villa and Arsenal both at home after that, two sides that are likely to do well this year. :(
